Alibaba, Chinese Bourgeois & Xi Jinping

Alibaba blew away earning estimates this morning. It's six percent higher in pre market trading. Alibaba is the Chinese equivalent of America's Amazon. Alibaba is a measuring stick if you will of the ever rising appetite of Chinese bourgeois for all thins that a consumer wants. China's population now approaches 1.5 billion. And they are hungry. Which brings up the hot seat China's President Xi Jinping is uncomfortably sitting on.How is he planning to insure all those people will get fed? How is he insuring that all those people will have room to live and breed ? He has a lot of levers of power. Xi Jinping commands a formidable military. But he can't control 1.4 billion people if they are heading to lunch with a a big appetite. So who's controlling whom? Consequently Xi Jinping has been expanding his countries influence and occupation of the planet into new areas.South China Sea has seen raw aggression in China's filling in tiny atols so Chinese can settle. There they can drop a fishing line into the water . Maybe one of the ever dwindling fish might bite on the Chinamans hook and disappear like so many before him.Chinese are already plundering Africa. In the beginning most of the planet looked like Africa. Now much of the planet looks like China- overpopulated and polluted. So today Xi Jinping has the problem. But increasingly the world will have more of a problem accommodating the munching jaws of the Chinese bourgeois.

Too Many People, Too Much Democracy

The current world wide population of humans is approximately 7 billion. There are 189 nations on the planet. All of those nations are run by governments that stay in power by catering to their constituents needs and to some degree their desire for more. More freedom. More food. More fun. Etc.In the late 1970's world wide fish stocks plummeted to 70-80% of former populations. Human population at that time was half of present tally-app. 3.5 billion.Similar plunging percentages hit wild life around the globe. Making room for hungry people who need housing necessarily equates to less habitat for flora and fauna. Fact is, we live on a zero sum planet. So now what? Democracy and liberal human- centric governing philosophies are not possible to the degree that got us to the current condition of lack of water, food stuffs and habitat for humanity. There is enough room and enough water and enough food if there were not so many people seeking them. The notion that 7 billion people are more valuable today than yesterday is preposterous. It's even more preposterous that adding billions more of people is a good idea. So? There necessarily will be less democracy and less people going forward.

How Many People Do We Want On The Planet?

Ebola virus has the potential to kill millions. It could kill billions. That's an argument for sending help to Africa to stop the worse case scenario of a world wide pandemic.Superficially it's the wise decision. But Ebola is a symptom of the basic problem of lack of nutrition for overpopulated areas and also accompanying hygiene issues. So if we contain Ebola then we necessarily have to address nutrition and hygiene challenges. That is challenge that no one wants to talk about. Because we don't have the resources. It follows then we have to make a decision of how many people we want to limit to a global population.Right now nature says we have gone over the optimum number many years ago. My own reckoning gives 1970 as the year. The world population at that time was approximately 3.7 billion. That's roughly half of where we are today. In the late seventies world fish stocks plummeted 80% over the next decade and scarcely have recovered.Similar percentage losses in bird also were documented. Global pollution is written about daily and is getting worse.Do we have another 40 years left? Sure but what kind of planet will be looking at? And what kind of life will be living? Not hopeful. Let nature take its course with Ebola in Africa. We have to start somewhere.Africa is where it all began.

Population Control And Protein Search Convergence Solution

Recent articles about Mainland China's slip shod attitude towards food processing gives one pause for thought.A recent article includes fox substituted for donkey. UGH!. Another recounts old, somewhat rotten chicken meat being resold as fresh to McDonald Chinese franchises. Fox vs donkey shows clear rape the environment philosophy.Rotten chicken shows value of money versus human health consideration. The ambient background is China's overpopulation.Food processors at some point will connect the dots and deliver up excess Chinese to excess Chines as a stabilization tactic.

Liu Han :A Disgusting, Fat, Greedy Chinaman

Dinorsaurs were wiped out by a cosmic collision. They didn't know about those things. Today man is wiping itself off the planet by killing the planet in a personal way. It's kind of like sawing off a limb you are standing on some 300 feet off the ground. But the eager sawyer is on the wrong side of the cut.  What's more stupid is that the busy man with the blade knows what will happen does it anyway because there's profit for a short period in the exercise. The tree limb can be sold for profit! Dinosaurs were innocent victims of the colliding asteroid. Man is guilty of killing flora and fauna in the common areas. His own death will be welcome by many.

Which brings me to Liu Han. He's the 46 year gap-toothed ,pug-faced greedy Chinaman who runs Sichuan Hanlong Group . That's a smelly China- based natural resource extraction firm .Recent accounts of his conspicuous consumption style include dining on endangered species. For example, he would deprive a shark of its fin so he could stuff a squab with it. Meanwhile the shark either bleeds to death or can't navigate properly .The shark has died before Liu Han  can flush the toilet filled with decomposed shark fin. He wears mink coats that are from minks trapped in the wild. He refuses farmed mink. He also drives a Ferrari. Everyone knows that the Chinese can see well. But he drives a Ferrari around China's busy and crowded urban area.. I wonder if he has a special license? Maybe he has got a special drivers permit that allows him to run over and and maybe kill up to five random Chinese a day with no questions asked.

Fatso Liu Han is now doing business in Eureka, Nevada. No doubt he got permission to blow the top off of Mount Hope in search of molybdenum from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Jobs for locals and an envelope for dear Harry. Liu Han along with many others like him around the world are a clear and present danger to all and that includes themselves. The time for legal remedies may be over.

Don't Fix Potholes. Remove Pavement

More street potholes are the trend. Rather than fight the trend, how about taking it a step further? We should selectively remove the pavement from city streets and some highways. It would get people out of cars and make them walk more. Noise and toxic emissions would go down. Natural resource consumption would go down. Over priced public works programs dealing with street maintenance would be largely eliminated. Highway systems that buried precious fertile lands like many parts of the Great Plains could be depaved and let the land beneath them live and breathe again. Forget harvesting crops for the world. What is more important? Local peace with nature or growing crops for more over populating humans? Silicon Valley was not too long ago a beautiful place of fruit orchards. Now it is home to souless gadget factories. That's not progress. Time to reverse.

Space Mining : Why Bother ?

Ever hear of Planetary Resources ? This company wants to mine outer space. This includes near by asteroids. The company wants to extract metals and water so to "... add trillions of dollars to the [earths] global GDP". They mention "GDP" but that first implies the comfortable care and feeding of the projected billions of people that will follow us on this already crowded earth. Why do we want to make comfortable room for the increasingly lower quality individuls that pop out of womens bellies and may or may not be greeted by the real father? Do you think that the investors in PR care about the coming billions of people? No. They don't care. But they do care about expanding the numbers of consumers for their largely unnecessary products. The investors include the Googler Larry Page and Eric Schmidt and others who want more. They want more because they can't stand what they have because it's not enough .So off they go to zero gravity asteroids to mine with reckless abandon. The tailings will be kicked off the asteroid to mark yet another disturbed piece of the cosmos thanks to the frivolous primate.

There is too much GDP already. There are too many people already. If bozos at Planetary resources want to mine asteroids, let them buy a pick and shovel and get the fuck off the planet.

Japan Reactor Radiation,Lipitor & Coumadin; Don't Drink the Water

Water is the source of all life. But since humans started using water to flush toilets, one could predict that eventually people would die from thirst. Eventually water will become so laced with residual fecal , chemical and radiation parts that it will be unusable for man or beast. How many people take Lipitor or Coumadin or Valium or the countless other well advertised drugs? When those drugs leave the body they enter the atmosphere. The ground water or oceans becomes tainted and evaporation sends the toxins around the planet. Today Japan's Fukushima nuclear reactor was just bumped up to the highest international level of severity. It now matches the dead space of the 1986 Chernobyl reactor in Russia. That radiation also ends up in the seas and ground water. And from there it gets into plants, animals and the atmosphere. My own speculation is that more people have read and followed the books of religion than have followed the disciplines of hygiene. The Bible, Koran , Torah, teachings of Buddha and other religious publications makes no mention of guarding against pollution. It's not in the commandments. Looking at supposed paintings of the writers of biblical parables, they look more like poster boys for a-before-a-bath example. A clean life is better than a holy life. Whatever "holy"means.

Senator Robert Byrd: He Will Achieve Near Immortal Status

Ninety-two year old Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia passed away yesterday. He was famous for pork barrel politics, his knowledge of parliamentary procedures and for being the longest serving U.S. Senator. Now he will develop into a lump of coal That's the stuff his state is famous- mountain top removal mining et al. As a lump of coal he will achieve near-immortal status. But no one will recognize him. Will he rest in peace or will some other Senator's policies unearth him and shovel him into a furnace?

Chinese People on Credit Card

The industrial revolution has moved lock, stock and barrel to China. Consequently the new middle class of the world is 1.2 billion Chinese. Now they will get credit cards. They will buy cars, live in bigger homes with more fuel consuming appliances, take trips, probably sneak more children births and in general foul the planet to the loss of every other species.

I say we need a flu to curtail this juggernaught.

What's That Smell? It's the Chinese Middle Class

With all due respect to domesticated Chinese-Americans, it's alarming that their mainland home China now is producing middle class by the pallet full. Just yesterday China anounced a trade DEFICIT with its trading partners in the amount of $7 billion. Also China recently anounced that their domestic car sales are up 63% over last year. That puts them on track to consume over 13 million cars this year. That's 25% larger than Americas projected total. While there will be more Chinese killed in the crosswalks in Bejing by the visually, peripherally impaired , it will not be nearly enough to curb this unfolding environmental peril.

China has app. 1.25 billion munching, belching and defecating organisms. Imagine how many great swaths of forest will disappear worldwide overnight when all those types get credit cards. How many species will go extinct? How much fresh air will be polluted with rancid cooking greases and coal-fired plants? Buy American folks and starve the pests out.

Blue fin tuna wont have a chance. Eighty percent of their numbers have disappeared and ended up in Japanese bellies who consume 80% of the yearly catch. And now the Chinese are weighing in. Well if a war breaks ot between the Japanese and Chinese over the last sushi then the Blue fin will have a chance.

War these days between environmental terrorists has its definite upside.

Las Vegas: Question Of Existence & Importance

Today a package containig the deadly poison ricin was found at the Las Vegas Extended Stay America Hotel. The discovery is being treated as a possible act of terrorism by the local authorities and the F.B.I.

Las Vegas is an unreal creation. Springing up in the middle of a desert, it sucks water from contiguous states to sustain its population including the flushing of toilets for the mostly losers that visit. The mighty Colorado River once emptied into the Sea Of Cortez and created an unbelievably rich estuary as a byproduct. It sustained fish, wildlife and water fowl. But Las Vegas has contributed to the river becoming only being a trickle of its former self at the largely dried up estuary.

Here's a question? If Las Vegas disappeared for any reason including a terrorist act would the U.S. and the environment be better off ? Personally I would not defend Las Vegas from any threat to its existence.

Pollution And The Book Of Genesis

The Bibles Book of Genesis, Chapter I, Verse 27-28, " And God created man to his own image, to the image of God he created him. Male and female he created them. And God blessed them saying increase and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and rule over the fishes of the sea and the fowls of the air and all creatures that move upon the earth".

Indeed. And man did do these things. But so effectively was mans zeal that 80% of ocean fish stocks have disappeared. Certain U.S. domestic bird populations have plummeted a similar 80%. And creatures that move upon the earth have lost their habitat, have been killed off for fun , have been run over in haste, have been poisoned by mercury from mans fossil fuel addiction, ad nauseum.

Genesis, Chapter I, verse 31, further states, " And God saw all the things that he had made and they were very good". Oh really. How about Three Gorges Dam becoming the worlds largest cesspool? How about the slaughter of dolphins and whales in Japan? How about pollution being created by the hand of God?

Personally I want peace with nature and I want the other creatures to have peace also. It wasn't only people of the Book that followed Gods counseling and polluted the earth but they did make pollution part of their religion. People of the Book should read other books.

Pat Buchanan: Strutting Against U.N. Law Of Sea Treaty

Pat Buchanan's op-ed piece today scolds Bush and key members of the Senate for supporting the ratification of the U.N.'s Law Of The Sea . The treaty would bring comprehensive protection to 70% of the worlds surface that is covered by water. The evidence of declining fish stocks, marine pollution and destructive seabed mining procedures is acknowledged by the treaty and steps to mitigate it are codified.

That's on one side. On the other side, Buchanan invokes the conservative legacies of Teddy Roosevelt, Bob Taft, Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan. Buchanan says that they bristled at treaties that compromised U.S. sovereignty and the implied strutting rights over the worlds resources , no matter who owns them. But Buchanan fails to put those past war horses philosophies in the context of todays realities. The fact is that 25-80 years ago the environmental degregation of the seas were not as apparant as today.

Wake up Buchanan and smell the fresh sea air. It may clear out old, out- of- date, stale attitudes.

A Prayer For Too Tall Buildings In San Francisco

The Transbay Authority is about to adopt the recommendation of it's advisory jury and allow the building of a 1200 foot tower high-rise at First and Mission Streets. The objective of the new Transbay Terminal and office complex is primarily to accomodate and in fact nurture an increaase of traffic through the downtown area of the city. You know, "If we build it they will come". So there will be more cars, mores buses, more trains, more people, more noise, more pollution.

Eight hundred of the 1200 foot tower will be new office space. So that will add to the demand of our incresingly limited water supplies and sewage treatment facilities. The builders are throwing in a 5.4 acre elevated park as a chump change tip to the eco-crowd. Let's see, app. 250,000 sq.foot park subtracted from 1.8 million sq.foot project doesn't qualify the project as anything but a eco-disaster.

It will probably get built. But I predict one day it will fall because of the unstable land and the hubris of it's height irresistibly temtps nature. Hopefully the jerks that built it are in the building at the time.

Blackstone Group: Wall St. Alchemists Vs. World's Resources

The long-awaited initial public offering of Blackstone Group ( symbol, BX ) is history. The IPO price of 31 was a bargain as brisk, subsequent open-market trading saw the issue rise another 20% to app. $38. That price values the entire company at app. $40 billion.

What real world effect does that alchemical Wall St phenomenon have? Well it creates $ 40 billion of new wealth in a blink of geological time so frivolous monkeys can borrow against or spend in the world's irreplaceable natural resource bazaar. Wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy for forests, lakes, pollution-free air to be created?
