Layoffs Should Include Congress

Bank of America is in the news today. It's considering cutting 40,000 jobs. That's 10% of its workforce. The Post Office last week talked about cutting 120,000 jobs. Last night Obama told Congress he had a plan for reducing the unemployed and he wanted support from all members. Even if he got support , it would seem that the misery of unemployment has reached a breeder reactor-like- dynamic of layoffs begetting more layoffs. Congress couldn't rally the will fast enough to stop the unraveling of the economy.

How about layoffs in congress along with pay and perq cuts? If ever there was a group that deserved collective punishment it's those bunch of crooks. Will start with that kind of humane actions. But reserve the right to all other barbaric means of eliminating them.

The Coming Austerity Votes by All Democracies Around the World

Greek Members of Parliament are voting today on another round of austerity measures. If successful , Greece will get billions more of funny money aid by the better- off democracies around the planet. If one wants to look at real austerity, then one should look up the per capita incomes of people living in Somalia, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Yemen, Palestine, most of Africa and most of Asia. The Greeks and other well-off Western democracies have no idea how far they can fall from the style of living that they prefer and grown accustomed to. But those same poor people mentioned above now live in reality whereas the Westerners are being forced to wake up from the unreal dream of the experiment of equality: no matter the cost. Democracy is too expensive and has never lasted.Tribes will outlast.

Pelosi : Look Out Below

Todays front page of the San Francisco Chronicle has Speaker Nancy Pelosi walking down Pennsylvania Avenue  surrounded with her democratic allies. The photo was taken yesterday. She's carrying the super-sized gavel that was used when Medicare was passed in 1965. The smile on her face was gleeful and tempted the gods. The gavel could be a metaphor for a large dildo and her smile could be one of relief from a large orgasm.

But now it's over Pelosi. The bill passed late last night . Now live with the aftermath and hangover of bankrupting government handiwork.

Healthcare Reform & Political Correctness

The push for "healthcare reform" is the latest folly of political correctness.  America will be bankrupted by this peice of legilation which will extend full service healthcare to the great unwashed, uncaring and unhealthy .

But if it passes, then we will be one quick step closer to the final day of reckoning when all things politically correct will be eliminated because of  unsustainability and costliness.

CIT Failure Would Be Mistake

Ignoring CIT and the small/medium size business' it serves would be a tactical and financial mistake by the Obama Administration. It would be a breaking of faith with small and medium sized business. These are the job creators in the past, now and in the future. The app. 1,000,000 accounts that CIT serves would not easily, if at all find a replacement. Big bank business models are not geared for CIT-type accounts. Consequently bankrupties would follow for some of those accounts and include others in their greater spheres of influence.

The chump change of $4 billion that CIT needs is relatively nothing compared to the hundreds of billions that already have gone out the window to the constructive criminals at AIG,B of A, Citigroup, GM and Chrysler. Small business built this country. Small business owners ran for office . Now many of our politicians are lawyers or people who never had a real job. This results in leadership that doesn't get it or worse get it but are paid to ignore it.

Bye Bye General Motors And Ford ?

Today General Motors and Ford were both downgraded by Wall Street analysts to sell. Now they tell us ! The future looks like either bankruptcy or a government- assisted bailout which in either case would leave the existing shares worthless.

The Volkswagen Bug showed up on our shores in the 1950's and the Japanese invasion of cheap, economical- to- run cars joined VW. But GM, Ford and Chrysler didn't take the hint. They continued to build expensive gas guzzlers with high profit margins . They bribed Congress to keep miles-per-gallon requirements at a low threshold and even got the lawmakers to give tax incentives to buyers of trucks and SUVs.

My take on this tactic by Detroit was that the obligations to pay the inflated demands of the United Auto Workers necessitated the high-priced autos. Now this is not the way to meet the public's changing trends toward affordability in transportation choices. Detroit went down the wrong way on a one-way street.
