Jerry Brown: Women, Pensions & Public Office

Jerry Brown is running for the office of California Attorney General. The man is shameless. If he wins the latest contest it would be his 6th major public office. He was Secretary of State, 2-term Governor, 2-term Mayor of Oakland. It must be a record. His cumlative pensions already add up to over $ 300,000 per year . And the AG job will increase that total.

Is he qualified to be California AG? Well, he's against the death penalty. Here he is at odds with a big majority of Cal voters on a key issue. So the odds are against him in this race. But no matter what happens he will again manage not to spend all the campaign contribution money. In politics you don't have to win the race to come out ahead..

What is Jerry known for? What are his past accomplishments? It seems he's known for the women he has associated with as much as anything else. On a personal level there was his relationship with Linda Rondstadt. She was a 60s rock group singer that he dated while in the Governors mansion. That got him more press than his bungling of the Mediterranean fruit fly infestations. Then there was his helping Mother Theresa in her care of the poor Indians for all of a week. That photo-op is talked about more than his past listless presidential bid.

And then there was that infamous woman appointment to the California Supreme Court. Voters should know about this battle with the Cal Assembly over the death penalty. He vetoed their legislation. Then the Assembly overode his veto. Brown then spitefully appointed Rose Bird to be the Supreme Court Chief Justice. She was against the death penalty and overturned 9 convictions. She was eventually recalled by the voters.

Brown should get a new life.
