Rome And United States: Somethings Never Change

On October 23, 415 A.D. Valentinian III was proclaimed Caesar. He became emperor at the age of six years.The rest is history. Soon Rome would be sacked multiple times by many of the same peoples who the Romans had sacked in the prior 1000 years.George W Bush became President of the United States in 2001. He was fifty-five years of age.In 2001 he declared " War on Terror". He invaded Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003 because of 9/11 which was carried out largely by Saudi nationals who happened to be hiding in Afghanistan. Iraq was a war of choice with no compelling reasons. And so? Some leaders are truly six years of age and act their age. But some leaders are fifty-five years of age but behave as though they were six years of age.

Insult Bush & Clinton: Legal Options

A bill is winding its way through congress that would severely cut support for past presidents. It would cap all assistance to former presidents at $ 400,000 per year. That includes their pension which is $ 200,000 per year. It turns out that past presidents earn considerable amounts of money in speaking fees and book writing. For example George W. Bush earned $ 15, 000, 000 last year giving speeches. That's right. The little moron who couldn't find Iraq on a map but none the less invaded it based on his "preemptive war" policy because he thought there weapons of mass destruction. And the miserable fallout from that escapade lingers today.And then there's impeached Bill Clinton. He's the asshole who repaeled Glass-Steagall while getting a blow job and has been favorably revising his presidency ever since. He earned $ 10,000,000 last year giving speeches. He talks about subjects that he has never had an original thought. Both these guys got more than $ 1,000,000 each from the government for expenses that include rent, phone bill, stamps, travel ad nauseum. They could afford their own expenses. We can't afford those expenses.

 What's to be done?  Well hopefully the bill passes Congress. But what else chould be done to to these unindicted criminals? Sadly we can't assassinate them now. But if we see them in public and they are close enough to hear our voice. I suggest insulting them. It's not much . But it helps the soul. Some insults would include asking Bush. " Hey George. Can you find Iraq on the map now?" Regarding Clinton, " Hey Bill, when are you going to shut up and stop lying?"

Real News, Fake News & Non News

News, news, news around the clock, around the world and then around and around again and again. Volumes of news and noise of news but is it really newsworthy? How much "news" is really fake or non news only different in the names that are used? That's tiresome time badly spent. Working in ones garden would be infinitely better.

President Obama is headed to Ground Zero in New York this Thursday. He will say something to the effect that OBL is dead, we all got revenge and the world is a safer place. That's not news in the sense that Obama is informing uniquely. He could have stayed in D.C. and kept his mouth shut and saved New Yorkers and tax payers traffic jams and money respectively. Now real news would have Obama issue a short statement through his press secretary that he did some math about the cost of killing bin Laden. And he has concluded that all things considered we didn't get our moneys worth. A cheaper way of fighting terrorists would be to have better foreign policies. I.E. remember that people in foreign countries have to live there long after presidential election cycles have been concluded. And if Pakistanis want the Taliban for friends, who can argue taste? Therefore as commander in chief of the armed forces he has issued an order for all U.S. troops around the world to stand down . The troops will come home and work on long neglected and badly needed infrastructure projects. Now that would be real news.

Overheard Conversation: Bush & Putin Talk About Europe Missile Shield

George tells Vlad, " Don't worry about my European missile shield. When the rockets come out of the silo at Mach 3 they will be aimed at "rogue-state" missiles not Russian targets."

Vlad asks George, " Why are you putting up the missile defense. If it's necessay, shouldn't the Europeans do it themselves ?"

George replies, " Good question Vlad. But I have to take a leak first." So George starts urinating on Vlad's shoes and remarks, " Gee, it's raining!"

Clinton's Kosovo & Bush's Iraq

The Kosovars are erecting a ten foot statue in honor of Bill Clinton, their " savior ". Europe needed American fire power in their action against Serbia's ethnic cleansing of the Muslim Albanians in the enclave of Kosovo. Clinton needed to get his name and Monica Lewinsky's name off the front page. And so America proceeded with a 68 day bombardment of Serbia which comprised a staggering 33,000 air sortees! Americans didn't care about Clinton's agressive preemptive war against a nation that did no harm to the U.S.

But certain people like Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, William Kristol, Elliot Abrahms and others noticed the apathy. Cheney was at Halliburton at that time and personally lobbied Clinton to let Halliburton set up the $ 500 million Camp Bondsteel that was an outsource contractor for the Kosovo action. Shortly thereafter The Project For The New American Century was founded by these same insiders excluding Clinton. They had a new business and philosophy- preemptive war as a path to empire. Bush was elected in 2000 and these same warmongers followed him or actually led him into the presidency. And now preemptive war is part of American culture.

War should not be in the hands of politicians. Only a NATIONAL REFERENDUM should authorize war.

Bush & Rice: Learning Middle East Policy The Hard Way

The question is , " Can a moron, George Bush and a pickaninny, Condi Rice be taught middle east foreign policy on the job?". And the answer is, " Maybe".

Consider the cost, app. $ 700 billion so far spent by the U.S., app. 3200 American dead, app. 72,000 American casualties, app. 700,000 Iraqi dead, app. 1,000,000 Iraqi casualities and app. 2,000,000 Iraqi refugees.

Our dangerous duo were recently handed a test that required them to formulate a response to the new Palestinian " unity government ". Well they didn't pass it but they didn't flunk it either. That's an improvement . America's has adopted a new policy towards the Palestinians that leaves the door open for contact and support. This breaks lock step with Israel which is our burden and pilot fish in middle eastern affairs. But Israel will continue to boycott the new " unity government". Considering the lives and resources spent on the Bush/Rice education, it's not much to show. but it's something.

Meanwhile, Britain, France, Russia, Norway and others have broken with the U.S./Israel approach and will seek to normalize relations and aid to the Palestinians. A large part of what has been wrong with Middle East these past 60 years has it's roots in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Bush and Rice could have and should have addressed this problem thousands of lives ago and billions of dollars ago.
