DEEP STATE : WRONG NAME

Who or what is the deep state? Does it even exist? I think the deep state conspiracy advocates have it wrong. It's like blaming some force or person for one's own bad luck. Bad luck is one thing but most adversities are the result of one's own poor judgement. How many people of any age will honestly own up to personal bad judgement? We all want less war. Yet war continues. So according to deep state conspirators there must be a hidden group that controls real time events that always starts wars. For example, the military-industrial complex is a suspect member in the forever war agenda of the directors of the deep state. War has been going on since the word was first used and then translated into other languages from the distant past till the present day. Do you think the same family or friends from the first day the word "war" entered the lexicon are still in charge? No. I think that the deep state is a kind of bogey man that humans dream up to blame for the results of their poor judgement.Put more simply, deep state is the other side of two-faced politicians responding to two-faced presidents.

Pope Francis And World War III

Today Pope Francis is in Redipuglia, Italy. It's the cemetery for approximately 100,000 Italians who died in World War I. He spoke about todays "chaos". He likened it to a piecemeal start of World War III. But he had no advice on how to prepare. He just condemned war. That's not a great leader. Great leaders point out directions that followers can use to prepare for the worst. For instance, he should advise his flock to have less children. That would limit casualties.Don't wait for that . Birth control is not in his job description.

Tea Party & Libya Quagmire: What About Budget?

Welcome Tea Party members to Washington. On your watch, the U.S. has entered into yet another mideast quagmire with the bombing of Libya. What about those budget cuts? Fuck that. Those are history. It's clear that the military-industrial complex still runs Washington and it draws on willing citizens who want jobs to engage in endless war. The only war we legitimately fought and won was our Revolutionary War. Every other war was on balance a loser.

Libya will prove to be another expensive, drawn out affair that is not critical to American security. The Libyans could have won against their Colonel Daffy Duck with guerilla warfare like our militia did in 1776. We didn't need to interfere.

Kim Jong Un: North Korea's Newest Four Star General

North Korea's old and ailing leader Kim Jong Il has appointed his youngest son to be a four star general. The boy is 26. That sets up a succesion to the elder Kim's departure. When one thinks about generals and war , an immature general is about par for the course. Wars persist because generals and their instructing politicians can't think maturely very well anyway.

Iraq Warplanes Request:Here We Go Again

The great peacemakers and warmongers in Washington are looking favorably on Iraq's request for a purchase of 18 F-16s. America's leaders rotate between war and peace because its good for business overall. Iraq is proposing an initial purchase of 18 in what could eventually total 96 warplanes. Iraq's leaders would rather spend money on planes than repair the infrastructure or help displaced people. The poor people of Iraq get no respect from their government or our government. It adds up to another victory for the military-industrial-complex. Iraq rearms, Iran responds, Israel responds, Turkey responds etc etc. and the US sells arms to all .

People of war should not be mourned when they die. They fulfilled their destiny .

Anyone For Afghanistan?

Poor Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, on Sunday he remarked in Munich, Germany about the NATO alliance, " We must not -we cannot-become a two-tiered alliance of those who are willing to fight and those who are not." He was speaking about the blowback of NATO allies to commit more troops and expand the mission to what may be an eternal war in Afghanistan.

Well, fight for what? Fight for how long? Who are we fighting? Afghanies or Taliban or al-qaeda don't wear uniforms and even so we can't tell when NATO drops bombs from fast moving jets . So the enevitable civilian casualties bear the bulk of the deaths and displacement. It's the more sane contingent of the NATO alliance that balks from further devestation of a country that didn't have much to begin with but now suffers with even less while they are getting blown up at the same time.

There was a rhetorical question asked by the antiwar activists in the 1960s. They asked," Suppose someone gave a war and nobody came?"
