Yesterday in Washington, Vice President Dick Cheney gave a speech at the annual meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. It was standing room only for the 5000 gushing, giddy members. Standing ovations were as regular as bus servive. And the Dick had a ticket to ride. He promised much. It included American unflinching, unlimited support for Israel. He also talked about the military option against Iran and its " fanatical regime". Cheney's approval rating is only 18% among polled Americans. It is apparent that the Bush/Cheney administration policies are more popular with Israel supporters than American citizens. Is security for Israel most of the times mutually exclusive with security for America ?
