Michael Bloomberg: Why & Why Not A Jewish President

Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg seems to be running for president. He's giving speeches about government policies across the country- Oklahoma and Texas included ! He has got the money, ambition and will be termed out of New York in 2009. New York City's budget this year will total $59 billion. That's more than several states combined. He's also Jewish.

Is America ready for a Jewish president? That is a cultural question. Culture springs from the geography of one's country. Jews have been without a homeland and a sustaining cultural base for thousands of years. They have been rountinely assimilated and rountinely expelled from many and varied countries in recorded history. But, America's diverse population is largely built on the outcasts of other countries. The culture of America is still a work in progress, seemingly defined by the last immigrant or special interest group.

But what makes America work is it's wealth. A lot of resentment, bias, dislike because of cultural differences can be smoothed over by a healthy economy and a regular pay check. So Bloomberg's control over New York's $59 billion makes sure that everyone gets a piece of the Big Apple. This includes the latest immigrant to the over paid City bureaucrat. Everyone must be happy. A Bloomberg presidency would almost guarentee a bloated, intrusive federal government

But what would happen if the money ran out in a severe recession or depression? Would the deep-seated, radical cultural roots assert themselves? And what are his feelings about Israel's security versus U.S. security? Could America be in more jeopardy because of a Jewish president's care for the rogue Jewish state?

Culture does count. Culture is more important than money. Countries based on culture last longer than cultures based on redistribution of wealth and intrusive governments. Culture is the low-cost producer of lasting relationships. The great struggle in America is all about trying to define a culture that has some limitations, shows some discrimination and is based on sustainable personal responsibility. With this in mind, Bloomberg would not really understand the presidential requirements.

Facts & Lies Of Israel's Creation

Tomorrow is May 14 and the 59th anniversary of Israel's Declaration of Independence declared on May 14, 1948. This anniversary date is more than a little misleading and redundant. Actually Israel was created by a rigged United Nation's vote to partition historic Palestine on November 29, 1947. So why the gap? Zionists didn't want to take any chances on their declaration of independence that was to follow so they made sure they would have a nation by order of the United Nations even if they lost the war.

Over 750,000 Palestinians were either killed, forceably removed or intimidated to leave by the de facto genocide effected by the Zionists in 1948. Consequently the Palestinians commorate May 15, 1948 as Nakba (catastrophe) Day. President Harry Truman with the help of super- Zionist Bernard Baruch led a blackmail-type intimidation of at least 5 nations to get the required majority U.N. vote for the partition of Palestine. These countries included France, Philippines, Haiti, Greece and Liberia. Other interesting facts are also covered in the book " O' Jerusalem" written by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre.

And so the great land grab by Israel has become more costly every year and has made the bill that the U.S. must pay ever greater. And for what benefit to the American people?

YouTube Documentary:Bill Clinton & Monica Lewinsky

The 2008 presidential race has started. These times bring the best and worse out of candidates and their supporters. Last election saw non-profits attacking John Kerry's Viet Nam experience. And Dan Rather lost his job at for-profit CBS for his misplced exuberance over what turned out to be faulty data on George Bush's National Guard experience.

Recently Bill Clinton, potential First Gentleman, was interviewed about this perspective role. His coy, dutiful, boyish-oh shucks manner in his answer reminded me of the total fraud he was and still is. Hillary is just as bad. The fact she still is married to this Ozark's Caligula speaks volumes of the filth she is accustomed to. So in the interest of the public service, how about a documentary to refresh peoples memories of the Clinton's collective lack of judgement? And it would all be true.

The venue would be YouTube, the script would be the depostion given by Monica Lewinsky to Special Whitewater Prosecutor Kenneth Starr. The props would be few: a mock-up of the Oval Office; a cigar; herpes look alike make-up; a blue dress; a sink etc. The style could be porno or dramatic or my favorite, a campy send up with additional dialogue relating to Bill telling about details of his private and business life .

Pope Benedict XVI In Brazil: Notices Some Missing

Pope Benedict arrived in Sao Paulo, Brazil yesterday and from the safety of his armored vehicle was greeted by hundreds of thousands. Prior to his landing, he issued an excommunication judgement on officials in Mexico City which recently liberalised abortion in that city. The statement was also an oblique attack/comment on Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva recent public musings about his own positive feelings about liberalising abortion in Brazil.

How can the Pope visit literally millions of people and only think about and notice the ones who are missing because of abortion? Maybe when one lives in the splenders of ancient Rome and drives around in high security one might lose touch. The Pope should leave his armored vehicle and press the flesh and smell the crowds and really get the flavor of what overpopulation is all about.

The Smell Of Burning Wolfowitz

There is a line in Coppola's "Apocalypse Now"spoken by Robert Duvall's character, Lt.Col Bill Kilgore. He says, " I love the smell of burning napalm in the morning, it smells like victory".

And so the quasi-burning at the stake of Paul Wolfowitz continues very publically with less and less of the disappearing Wolfy to feed the flames. It's not pretty. But Wolfy is not pretty, nor were his machinations at the Pentagon pretty. His ethical lapse at the World Bank is secondary to his ethical lapses with regard to lying about Hussein and Iraq's WMD/Al Qaeda connection. Also he had a significant hand in 2 fateful decisions. One was the disbanding of the Iraqi Army and the other was the de-Baathification process in post-invasion Iraq. His cumulative actions along with others have caused millions to suffer and die.

There is something to be said for bias and prejudice and ostracisim. Wolfy should be shunned and insulted when possible. Civility should be reserved for honest well-meaning people of society. Peer pressure against the likes of Wolfowitz is appropriate and a useful social weapon.

King Herod & Roman Empire: Full Circle?

King Herod was the puppet, Jewish monarch for the Roman empire about 40 B.C. Israeli archeologists claimed they unearthed his tomb recently.

The ironies of history never fail to confound. I.E. what's left of the magnificent Roman Empire as represented by the U.S. has gone full circle with what's left of the culturally- impaired Israelis ! Now the U.S. takes its instructions from AIPAC. Julius Caesar would be livid.

Chinese Disease,Environmental Pollution And America's Democracy

One has to wonder about America's continual refining and broadening of it's civil rights laws. The entitlements and set-asides of our democracy seem to be defined by the last immigrant or the last- discovered special interest group. Is this sustainable? Consider our relationship with the Chinese. With each new costly civil rights benefit, a proportionate number of jobs are outsourced to the Chinese low-cost, slave producer who couldn't care less about civil rights. We need China's workforce for a large part of our democracy to work.
.

But there is a downside with dealing with China. Just shaking hands on a new business deal may bring contact with disease. Remember SARS ? How about the Avian Flu? The Asian Flu? What about the recent toxic melamine in pet food that caused the known death of 4000 beloved cats and dogs? Today there are reports that pigs in China are bleeding from leisons all over their bodies and dying. Some Chinese are dumping the bodies into the rivers and thus making the disease mobile. Oh yes, there are only 1000 Pandas in the wild and a few months ago the 20 million year- old Baiji dolphin went extinct in the polluted Yangtze River.

The pigs, cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, wild life are dying in China. And now the skies are turning black from the pollution of the newly arrived industrial revolution.Yet the Chinese population is at a record 1.3 billion. It would suggest that the Chinese exposure to filth and bad environmental policies have built up a tolerance and immunity.

But we in America are not immune from their filth and their now exported environmental airborn pollutions. It's long overdue to examine our civil rights laws effect on creating unwanted environmental fallout elsewhere.

Gates Foundation: Endangered Species Grant Request

According to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation website, the Foundation's focus is " Guided by the belief that every life has equal value....". That may be but we are known by our differences. And some of those different lives are other species. And some of those species are threatened with extinction. Here are some: Northern Spotted Owl, only 5000; Black-Footed Ferret, 700; Sonoran Pronghorn, 300; Whoping Crane, 300;Florida Manatee, 3300 and so on. Yet after a perusal of the website, I see no mention of efforts to protect, nurture and bring back animal life that is closer to home.

Instead the main areas of interest center on the 800 million population of sub-Saharan Africa. No threat of extinction in those numbers. On the contrary, birth control would be more helpful to the tragic cycle that exists. Hey Bill and Melinda, how about some help for truly threatened species here at home?

Will Jail Time Help Paris Hilton's Character?

Poor Paris Hilton, her bon vivant days now end with a June 5, 45 day County jail sentence for probation violation related to a reckless-driving charge. Well, easy come easy go. First, her gold-plated name was not her idea and secondly her internet-released sex scence was not her idea also. But both events launched her sucessful public persona so much that she could afford a fawning- Jewish spokeman/legal liason, Elliot Mintz, to interface between Paris and her attorneys. He earned his salary by telling Paris she could drive when her probation specifically disallowed it. But Ms. Hilton at age 26 should have known better.

But something good for Paris' character may come from this legal fiasco. Now with reality firmly in control of her immediate future in the form of a 8 x 12 cell, she may be ready for some Hollywood dramatic roles or at least dramatic commercials.

Preemptive Wars Should Be Lost

Bush is isolated. Olmert of Israel is isolated. Rumsfeld is gone and his Israeli counterpart, Amir Peretz plans to leave office next month. America has lost the Iraq war and Israel lost the war in Lebanon. Both were preemptive wars. Neither were necessary for American and Israeli security. The bad judgement of these men resulted in their isolation and ouster.

Philosophically speaking, preemptive wars should be lost lest it become a bad habit. Practically speaking, preemptive wars against nations which have a lower cost of fighting back will over time always result in failure for the invading, preemptive warring nation.

Was Wolfowitz Caught In A Trap?

Want to catch a rat in a trap? Some use cheese. Want to catch a human in a trap? How about using sex and money?

At the center of the World Bank's President Paul Wolfowitz scandal is his arrangement of a non-appropriate huge pay increase and better job postion for his friend and presumed lover World Bank employee Shaha Ali Raza. But slightly off-center to this World Bank scandal is Mr. Wolfowitz's part in making a case for the Iraq War which has been shown to be based on false/fabricated assumptions. Mr. Wolfowitz has a lot of enemies. His enemies are particularly energised about his ability to avoid accountability for Iraq and also for his high-handed behavior at World Bank.

So, how about a trap for Wolfy? Enter Ad Melkert who is the head of the ethics board at World Bank. Mr. Wolfowitz was directed by the ethics board to distance himself from Shaha Ali Raza as per World Bank regulations. Wolfowitz at first wanted a recusal from this duty because of his personal relationship with Ali Raz. But Ad Melkert and the board insisted that Wolfowitz handle the chore. And so the the trap was set .

Had Wolfowitz made a proper and non-controversial reassignment for Ali Raza then nothing would have happened. But Wolfowitz took the bait and planned to to take advantage of his postion and have it both ways. First, he would please his lover with a better job and more tax-free pay ( could there have been a side deal for Ali Raza to kick some money back?). Secondly, if he was criticised he could blame the ethics board for making him do it. But the ethics board only instructed Wolfowitz to distance the Office of World Bank president from a World Bank employee. The ethics board didn't give Wolfowitz a pass for corruption.

Heraclitus said in 500 B.C., " Our fate is not in the stars, it is in our hands".

What Is The Optimum Population Of Humans ?

Pardon me, but aren't we too many? The last population count had we humans at about 6.6 billion and growing. There are predictions that half of all species will go extinct by 2100. We live on a zero-sum planet. One species gain is subtracted from another species and/or the environment. Global warming is a clear example of how human activity can cause and/or exacerbate physical changes in our world. We can discuss lower greenhouse gas emission strategies but these are really peripheral issues. Simply humans should optimumly be less in number. And if so, what is the right population number? And how do we arrive and maintain that number? It's in our capability to reach an answer and effect it's outcome. Antibiotics and birth control are our tools.

But first, what is the right population number? Let's use America as an anedotal model for world population and it's environmental impact. We Americans do use 25% of world resources and are only 4% of world population but we are rightly or wrongly supposed to be the template of what many of the world's people dream of attaining. Please note how many immigrants want to come to the U.S. .

I think that in the late 1940s and early 1950s world population attained the optimum higher limits of human population. At that time it was estimated to be 2.4 billion. In the U.S. at that time there ominous signs that the human attitude towards the planet had exceeded prudent behavior and entered the hubris zone. Two anecdotal events bring this unhealthy attitude change coupled with the technology to effect the change into view. One was the birth of the military-indutrial complex which mantra is " In Growth We Trust" or " First Blow It Up And Then Rebuild It". The second example was the start of explosive growth in Las Vegas. Here was the sin of bringing water from pristine environments so toilets could be flushed in a city built by losers!

The human classical period was circa 1500 B.C. to 500 A.D. The population at those times were app. 200 million. Therefore the range of optimum human population ranges between 200 million and 2.4 billion.

Cho Seung-Hui:Anti-Social Behavior In A Free Country

Why did Cho have enough time to put 3 bullits into 33 victims and shoot many more only wounding them? The shootings were all witnessed by scores of students and teachers. If it becomes obvious that Cho is going to kill you next, wouldn't it be worth the risk to throw something or rush him rather than wait your turn?

It turns out that Cho had a long history of suspect and actual anti-social behavior. Reports are trickling out of his " annoying" behavior towards some women. He wrote deranged essays that exhibited a potentially dangerous personality. And those who knew him all said that he was anti-social. Why was he still on campus and treated as just another student?

Maybe because our sensitive, inclusive and politically correct culture that is backed up by real laws that are expensive to fight make it a better choice to turn a blind eye to anti-social behavior particularly if they are done by a minority race. Anti-social behavior by anyone is still anti-social and should not be overlooked .

There will be more like Cho in the future. That's just the way of things. But the fallout from that bad behavior can be mitigated. For example , maye next time only 5 perish instead of multiples of 5. How do we arrive at that goal? The ancient Greeks excluded or ostracized individuals that were anti-social. That's a model that could work today. Cho should have been driven off campus by peer pressure .

San Francisco Attorneys: Too Many, Too Expensive

According to the latest edition of the San Francisco Yellow Pages, there are 40 pages listing attorneys. Notably in those same Yellow Pages, a cumulative 40 pages of life's necessities are listed in smaller increments.: appliances, 3 pgs. ; clothes, 5 pgs. ; electricians, 5 pgs.; engineers, 4 pgs. ; grocers, 4 pgs. ; plumbing, 13 pgs. and hospitals, 2 pgs. . They add up to 36 pages, so you have some change left over. Maybe you want an accountant which are listed on 4 pages.

Why do we have all these lawyers compared to the meager percentages of necessry professions and vendors? I think there are 2 main reasons. The first is the lure of money, lots of money whether the attorney wins, loses or settles. The legal system is so costly because of its built-in systems of legal complicating procedures that continually put arriving at a resolution into another month or year. The second reason follows from the first. Since " according to the law" requires attorneys to track the maze of instructions codified in juris prudence, one need only be a good map reader, greedy and not much value-added in planning.

Follow these instructions and many expensive, billable hours will follow.

Paul Wolfowitz: A Wandering Jew

Paul Wolfowitz's job at World Bank may be terminated by Monday. But even if he prevails he's doomed to be a Wandering Jew.

There are 2 definitions of " Wandering Jew ". One is botanical. It is the given name for several creeping houseplants most commonly cultivated in window boxes and hanging pots. The other definition refers to medieval legend. It describes Jews who mocked Jesus on his way to the crucifixion. The Jews punishment was to wander the earth without security until Judgement Day. Well this description includes religious bias. Therefore it is not admissable. What Jews did to Jews is their business. And after all, if Jesus was the son of god how could he be offended anyway?

But the first botanical definition does bare some analogies to Wolfowitz. Houseplants require a support system. They have to be purchased, brought home and made comfortable in a non-native surrounding. Then hopefully they will be a postive addition to the host's ambience. If the host doesn't get what he bargained for then out goes the wandering Jew.

Wolfowitz as the prime architect and executive of Iraqi pre and post-war decisions let his allegiance to Israel get in the way of better decisions that could have benefited his American host. Ergo whether it be the reasons for dismissal at the World Bank behavior or his actions at the Department of Defense Wolfowitz is doomed to wander.

Hillary Clinton: Wellesley College, Hormones & The 60's

Today " The New York Times " had an article about Hillary when she attended Wellesly College in the 60's. She gave the commencement speech in 1969.

In the speech she described classes search for a "... more immediate, ecstatic and penetrating mode of living". Was she describing a dildo ? The speech got a 7 minute standing ovation. With all the assembled female hormones in the commencement hall, Hillary knew how to connect.

The article also included a 1969 vintage photo of Hillary WITHOUT the chin she acquired during her husband's run for the presudency. Maybe sans a chin one does need a dildo. Whatever. Hillary looked like many of the women I saw in San Francisco at that same time. But some women and men didn't buy into that part of the hippy philosophy that wanted government to replace personal responsibility. And some who bought into it eventually out grew it. But Hillary is still living in that time.

Israel's Security Versus The Price Of Oil

Today Victor Davis Hanson's op-ed piece titled " It's the oil, stupid" tried to make the case that lower oil prices would rein in Iran, Syria and their proxies Hamas, Hezbollah etc.

The last time I looked at the occupied territories of historic Palestine, I didn't notice any benefits of petro-dollars cash flow. Maybe Mr. Hanson wants Israel to be left alone and not criticised while it continues it's 60 year old slow-motion genocide of the Palestinians. The fact is that Palestinian suicide bombers do their thing for free. They don't need huge amounts of petro-dollars to be effective. The price per barrel of oil in 1947 was $2.50. Today it's in the $ 60's. The rigged U.N. partition vote of Palestine was taken in 1947. Since that time, the Palestinian resistance has been the low-cost producer of war. Money or the price of oil has nothing to do with their cause.

Time To Weigh Bush And Cheney

Yesterday in Baghdad 4 more Americans died and 16 were wounded in a prolonged, fierce battle with Sunnis. The American were assisting Shiite Iraqi Security Forces, in effect ethnically cleansing a Sunni part of Baghdad. The Iraq Security Forces got the confrontation rolling by entering a Sunni mosque and executing 2 Sunni clergy in front of a congregation who were using the mosque as sanctuary.

So America is not only in the middle of a civil war but we have picked the Shiite side and have grandly armed and phyically assisted them. The Iraq War has cost app. 3300 American lives and app. 73,000 wounded and app. $ 800 billion so far. Iraqi losses have been far greater. Iraq has fragmented , Iraqi civilian deaths are at a mean estimate of over 700,000 and refugees number over 2 million.

Yet Bush and Cheney want to continue. It's time for their impeachment and removal. But simple removal is not an adequtae penalty for their behavior. More appropiately they both need to be weighed by a rope.

Barack Obama: He's Plural Man

America is nothing if not diverse. And presidential contender Barack Obama may have the home team advantage of diverse identity politics.

Mr. Obama is 1/2 black and 1/2 white which reflects the increasing interracial relationships in the U.S.. He was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii which gives him Pacific Islanders credentials. He spent part of his youth living in Indonesia which gives him Asian bona fides. His religious backround includes an estranged Muslim father who turned atheist and a Christian mother. That pretty much covers most religious persuasions. His father left Barack and his mother so Barack was raised in a single parent household niche. Mr. Obama studied law at Harvard, was a teacher, served as an Illinois State Senator and is currently a U.S. Senator representing Illinois. He's married and father, wrote 2 books and " inhaled".

So what kind of policies does he think will suit America's diversity? Will he champion affirmative action and a loose immigration policy? Both of those policies are under fire. But his ad hoc constituency largely springs from that backround. I think he will get the democratic nomination because of his wit and charm But what intellectual capability he has is yet to be revealed.

Population Growth And Climate Change

Yesterday the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change released it's 1572 page report. The report concluded".... a high confidence- about 8 in 10 chance- that human-caused warming over the last 3 decades has had a discernable influence on many physical and biological systems."

The report talks about the buildup of greenhouse gases that come from smokestacks and tailpipe emissions. It also points out the exacerbation of these effects by the human clearing of forests and population patterns that ravage delicate ecosystems. The report clearly shows the link between population growth and world climate change. But it stops short of advocating a maximum human population to mitigate and reverse this urgent problem. Why? Maybe because it would be politically incorrect. Also maybe because our world-wide civilizations are modeled on a monetary-based " In Growth We Trust" philosophy.

But the metaphysics of our planet and indeed the universe doesn't care about political correctness or monetary-based schemes. So the day of reckoning is at hand. The salvation of the 50,000 year old homo sapiens will require a lesson in limitations and humility like every other non-human specie abides by.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation: A Suggestion For Their Childhood Obesity Program

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation plans to spend $ 500 million over the next 5 years to combat childhood obesity in the U.S. . The foundation estimates that 1/3 of children under 17 are obese. It says that many of these children are poor and live in neighborhoods where outdoor play and exercise is unsafe and there is limited access to fresh fruit and vegetables. According to the foundations director Dr. Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, " In many cases the environment makes it almost impossible for them to choose healthy lifestyles".

The foundation should consider this. If heroin from Afghanistan or cocaine from Columbia or meth from out of state labs can be delivered fresh and affordably priced to these very same " environments" why can't fresh fruit and veggies? People choose their lives. Create the demand and then the supply will come.

" First They Come For The Jews": Well, Sometimes It's Appropriate

Dorothy Rabinowitz's April 2, 2007 "The Wall Street Journal" editorial, " First They Come For The Jews" fails in a defense of the charge of espionage against 2 former American Israel Public Affairs Committee operatives. The espionage trial is due to start in June. It is alledged by federal prosecutors that the AIPAC employees received " classified" information from an American government official and then passed this information to the foreign nation Israel. Ms. Rabinowitz's wordy rant reduces to the mere claim " everyone does it". And for good measure Ms. Rabinowitz tosses the heretofore ultimate verbal nuclear indictment of anti-semitism. But even uranium defaults into lead given enough time. And so will this anti-semitism nonsense.

Enough already. Everyone doesn't do it! Passing " classified" info to a foreign country is not an everyday occurence. AIPAC's lobbying strength is legend and should come to an end. Most of America does not have the racist goals of the present Israeli government. The case against the AIPAC employees is a vehicle to examine and expose Israel's strength in influencing American foreign policy. Granted there could be better examples and better cases. But like the trial of Al Capone for tax evasion and not murder, racketeering, prostitution, assualt , robbery, bribery etc, etc, etc, you go with what you have.

Hillary Clinton: Cow With Cash

Here we go again. The first quarter presidential fund raising totals are in. The bush has $ 36 million. That nearly ties the Bush total of $ 37 million in the comparable period. Since all big money is increasingly concentrated in America, look for an increasingly larger American government with a Clinton presidency as per the Bush government template.

Donors who want to make Hillary's pudenda pucker or click with her clit merely have to enclose a check with the requested part of the $ 3 trillion federal budget. The auctioning of America continues.

Nazi & Zionist War Compensation: Different Attitudes

Yesterday in Berlin, the longest-running World War II compensation suit came to an end. The Jewish, Wertheim heirs will receive $ 117 million from the KarstadtQuelle AG . The elected Hitler administration took the valuable downtown Berlin land away from the Wertheims in the 1930s. KarstadtQuelle had nothing to do with the seizure but now owns the property. Thus the court found them liable to the Wertheim heirs. OK ?

Meanwhile back in Tel Aviv on the same day, Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Olmert made a statement about the Palestinian's claim of the " right of return". He said, " Israel would not allow a single Palestinian refugee to return to what is now Israel, and Israel bore no responsibility for the refugees because their plight resulted from an attack by Arab nations on Israel." What ?

So Arabs attack Israel, so Israel confiscates Palestinian lands and won't give it back or offer compensation. The " right of return" is a key issue in the world-destabilizing Israeli/Palestinian conflict. There are over 4 million Palestinian refugees in neighboring countries because of Israel's 1948 ethnic cleansing. It's bad enough that Israel persue it's slow-motion genocide against the Palestinians, but America should not be a part of this colossal crime. Dump Israel.

Thomas L. Friedman: Condescending Israel-First Columnist

"The New York Times" columnist Thomas L. Friedman was at his best today. When he pushes Israel's interests over American interests, that is when his writing comes easiest. Todays " Many Plans, No News" was classic Friedman. He relies on no memory or a short memory for his gentile readers. And there is always his continued Jewish regular readers who largely support Israel.

Today Tom was bemoaning the Bush Administration's abandonment of the 1997 " Clinton plan" as basis for an Israeli/Palestinian peace plan. First of all, Bill Clinton never had an original idea about anything. The "plan" was largely composed by his Middle East negotiator Dennis Ross who might pass for an Israeli operative. The "plan" provisions included these Palestinian non-starters: the new Palestinian state was largely not connected, a non-contiguous gerrymander of a partial historic Palestine; the " right of return" to Palestinian refugees was limited ; illegal Israeli settlements around Tel Aviv and Jerusalem were to remain in place; the " shared capitol of Jerusalem" was effectively denied because of the illegal settlements that would be allowed to stay. What's more, Ariel Sharon vowed that if he were elected he would not honor the " Clinton plan". Sharon was elected in 2001 and succeeded by an equally radical right-wing Ehud Olmert.

Mr. Friedman shows a disrespect and low esteem for the readers of the country that he calls home. I only read him to find out by deductive analysis what Israel would have America believe.

Benedict XVI & Catholic Church: Out Of Touch

Pope Benedict XVI and app. 100 European bishops took a group photo in Rome this past weekend. There were no women in the picture. The occasion was the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. That agreement marked the founding of the European Union. Benedict commented on the stagnant birth rate of Europeans and by implication it's effects on the church and European society in general.

Pope Benedict said, " Besides putting economic growth at risk, it can also cause enormous difficulties for social cohesion and above all favor dangerous individualism and is careless about the future."

That's an interesting selection of criticisms. His first alarm is about jeopardising " economic growth". One would think that Benedict would trust in God rather than trust in growth to underpin the church. Then he mentions "social cohesion". Is there anything more historically divisive than competing religions? And then he scolds and warns against "dangerous individualism". Well these dangerous individuals brought about the enlightenment of scientific explanations as an alternative to the teachings of the Bible. Most scientists don't deny the existence of a god, but their alternative scientific language allows a dialogue between competing followers of religion to carry on an alternative , less inflammatory conversation about this subject. Effectively the scientists are a kind of peacemaker.

If the Pope really wants to help to grow his flock, why not allow his clergy to marry? That would certainly attract a more trustworthy and fecund type. In general, Pope Benedict should concentrate on a quality flock rather than on quantity. That would mean that only people who can afford children should have them. Those that can't afford children should not have them and serve god in another way. The church has to have a message that resonates with the timeless realities of life.

George Soros & AIPAC: What's He Thinking ?

" When they raid the brothel, they take all the girls".

And so the fate of Jews in Nazi Germany was sealed because they were merely Jewish. George Soros, the Hungarian-born billionaire, experienced that horror in his native country. That backround experience seems to come through in his recent article in the " New York Review Of Books". In the article, he urges the American government to pressure Israel to recognize and deal with the Palestinian's new " unity government". He notes that the main obstacle to that diplomatic step is the powerful American Israel Public Affairs Committee. Maybe Mr. Soros fears that the growing anti-Israel attitude around the world will spill over into an indiscriminate anti-Jewish feelings and actions here in America.

But Mr. Soros is up against the premier poster character of excessive foreign lobbying influence in American politics- AIPAC. This lobby has spent years and hundreds of millions of dollars in a legal underworld of intimidating U.S. sworn representatives. The whip is money and it's media contacts. Simply if a representative doesn't kowtow to the Israeli lobby's political agenda then AIPAC will get another stooge.

This was evident when Barack Obama's spokesman quickly distanced the candidate from the Soros analysis. Also other politicians were gushing in their recital of AIPAC's mantra, " No recognition of the 'unity government' unless the 'unity government' recognizes Israel and it's demands". Well if Israel won't recognize Palestine including the "right of return", shared capitol of Jerusalem and a pullback by Israel from the occupied territories, then why should the Palestinians respond positively?

In the far future, could the Jews in America face a Nazi-type experience? Mr. Soros seems to be asking that question and trying to avoid a replay.

Bush & Rice: Learning Middle East Policy The Hard Way

The question is , " Can a moron, George Bush and a pickaninny, Condi Rice be taught middle east foreign policy on the job?". And the answer is, " Maybe".

Consider the cost, app. $ 700 billion so far spent by the U.S., app. 3200 American dead, app. 72,000 American casualties, app. 700,000 Iraqi dead, app. 1,000,000 Iraqi casualities and app. 2,000,000 Iraqi refugees.

Our dangerous duo were recently handed a test that required them to formulate a response to the new Palestinian " unity government ". Well they didn't pass it but they didn't flunk it either. That's an improvement . America's has adopted a new policy towards the Palestinians that leaves the door open for contact and support. This breaks lock step with Israel which is our burden and pilot fish in middle eastern affairs. But Israel will continue to boycott the new " unity government". Considering the lives and resources spent on the Bush/Rice education, it's not much to show. but it's something.

Meanwhile, Britain, France, Russia, Norway and others have broken with the U.S./Israel approach and will seek to normalize relations and aid to the Palestinians. A large part of what has been wrong with Middle East these past 60 years has it's roots in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Bush and Rice could have and should have addressed this problem thousands of lives ago and billions of dollars ago.

Bill Clinton :" A Face In The Crowd"

The 1957 movie " A Face In The Crowd" was on Turner Classic Movies last night. It could have been a biopic of Bill Clinton. The movie was based on Budd Schulberg's short story " The Arkansas Traveler". The lead character " Lonesome Rhodes" was the hard drinking huckster who by chance gets into radio and TV . He develops and a uses his natural folksy character to further his selfish and malicious goals. Andy Griffith played a reviting "Lonsome" in his screen debut. The movie was masterfully directed by Elia Kazan. He got the most out of a suppoting cast that included, Patricia Neal, Anthony Franciosa, Walter Matthau and Lee Remick in her screen debut. They were all backed up by solid character actors.

Real life characters like Bill Clinton mostly attract people of low self esteem. And so "Lonesome Rhodes" character attracted people who could pass for Friends Of Bill in our real world. The movie characters that reminded of real world players included the MacDougals, Jennifer Flowers, Vince Foster, Monica Lewinsky and James Carville. Of course the setting in Arkansas was right on.

In the end the character came undone. He was exposed as the charlatan and phony that he truly was. The final scenes had " Lonesome" making speeches in his empty penthouse while the Carville look alike was operating an applause/canned laughter machine on cue. To be fair, " Lonsome" gets the worst of the comparison to our delinquent Bill. " Lonesome" didn't take polls before he spoke with his faithful.

Lawyer Richard Scruggs: Champion Of Poor Judgment

Twenty-five percent of my graduating class went on to become lawyers. Half of those guys would steal a hot stove. And the other half would watch and learn how they did it. I can't really blame them. The legal system in the U.S. grants it's practioners a license to steal. The legal process is so cumbersome and lengthy that the attorneys on both sides of the judicial action are enriched far beyond their actual worth. Their participation is effectively an impediment to a quick resolution and is tantamont to stealing the wealth of the plaintiffs and defendants. Also the mere mention of a law suit will bring forth settlement talks. This casts the lawyers as shake-down gunslingers.

Which brings up the name of attorney Richard Scruggs. He's the premier trial attorney in America. He was the architect of the $ 286 billion tobacco industry settlement. He won damages for people who smoked and the states who provided the care giving to the related diseases.

Scruggs was recently in the news as both plaintiff and his own lawyer against the defendant State Farm Insurance. Scruggs lost his home when Hurricane Katrina hit Mississippi's gulf beaches. Scruggs built his home only 50 yards from the water. State Farm which was backed up by the Mississippi courts and the state insurance commissioner said the policy never covered the flooding which ruined his home. Scruggs didn't like that fact. So he threatened State Farm and other insurance providers with a similar nation wide legal effort as per the tobacco industry. State Farm settled by paying $130 million to all similarly situated flood victims.

And so people who built houses on flood plains will get rewarded like the people who had the bad personal judgment to smoke. Personal responsibility and critical thinking are not honored by these results. How long can that go on?

Homosexuality: Political, Personal Or Health Issue

Yesterday Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were being pilloried by gay and lesbian groups. The presidential hopefuls condemnations of General Peter Pace's statement that "...homosexuality was immoral" didn't meet the highest standard of political correctness outrage set by the homosexual activists.

And why should it? Homosexual behavior is a personal affair. What people do in their private lives is their own business. But by definition others view of that behavior is a personal right also. So the General's personal view was legitimate.

But homosexuality does cross over the line of a private affair when the pandemic of HIV/AIDS is considered. No one has the right to infect others with deadly diseases. In the area of communicable diseases, health issues are more important than personal issues. Some schools in our country teach the alternative life style of homosexual behavior as a valid part of their teaching curriculums. Homosexual behavior can bring about bad health issues. Learning bad health habits at school is not appropriate.

Al Sharpton Linked To The Late Senator Strom Thurmond

Upon learning of his ancestors enslavement to ancestors of the late segregationist Senator Strom Thurmond, Al Sharpton said," ... I might be related to them [ Thurmond's family ]."

What's the fuss? At least Al is in the country legally and is free. Or does he pine away for the oppression and hardships of his native Africa?

Israel Or Iran ?

Why does America choose Israel over Iran?

While most of us were sleeping, AIPAC was lobbying our executive and legislative branches of government. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee is the powerful Israel " uber alles" lobbying group that occupies our government. It's similar to the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands but without the military hardware to keep the Palestinians in line. Israel's occupation of our Congress requires only contributions to our members of government. Ironically some of that money is laundered from the $ 2.5 billion that the U.S. gives to Israel each year.

AIPAC'S influence stopped a key provision that was to be added to the $ 100 billion appropriation's bill for Bush's double-down bet in the Iraq/Afghanistan wars. The provision would have required the president to notify and get permission from Congress about any military action against Iran. Sounds reasonable. But AIPAC said "no". So America's security is put in second postion behind Israel's security. That shift is an effective act of treason by the supporting members of Congress.

Israel is not worth the respect that America bestows. Israel's criminal behavior with respect to the Palestinians threatens world peace. In contrast Iran has much more to offer American interests in the region. Iran has a legitimate rich historical culture, oil, markets for our products and could be a source of bringing stability in that region.

Dick Cheney Should Resign

How bad have things gotten for Vice President Dick Cheney? Well only Senator Joe Lieberman was pictured in todays "New York Times" walking with Cheney after the verdict in the "Scooter" Libby trial was announced. Cheney is one of the very few people that make Joe Lieberman look good in comparison and Joe seized the opportune void. Cheney should resign.

The trial of " Scooter" Libby was a proxy for the trial of the Bush Administration's handling of the Iraq War in general and Dick Cheney's hand in those suspect machinations in particular. President Bush needs some relief from the growing pressure and circling Congress. He should advise Cheney to resign for both their interests. With Cheney out of office Bush could pardon him if necessary and since Bush only looks good compared to Cheney in this race to the bottom administration Bush might salvage a more decourous ending to his administration. Cheney's health is a serious problem and could give him some cover also. Cheney also faces a law suit from Joe Wilson and his wife Valerie Plame over "Scootergate". And the remote possibility of an impeachment is neutralized if he leaves office. Bush could then appoint Condi Rice as his new veep and cover his rear end if impeachment comes his way.

Dick Cheney's Blood Clot & I.E.D.'s ( Improvised Explosive Device)

Many of the app. 3200 U.S. deaths and countless casualties in Iraq are the result of I.E.D.'s ( improvised explosive devices). Wouldn't it be ironic that the architect of the criminal Iraqi war should suffer a similar fate?

Yesterday Dick Cheney was treated for a blood clot in his leg. Blood clots are natures version of i.e.d.'s. You know it's there but you don't know if or when it will explode and kill or maim. An instant death might be preferable to an incapacitated or total paralysis. Then one might be confined to a hospital like Walter Reed for example where in Cheney's case the visitors would be few. Except night crawling cock roaches might pay a visit to the degenerating Vice President.

"Vanity Fair", Graydon Carter, Bono & Africa.

The urbane, effete meets the naive, gritty. The topic is the lost peoples of Africa.

Graydon Carter, the polished, cynical editor of "Vanity Fair" will yield his duties onetime to Bono. Bono is the crusading rock star who has recently discovered the woes of Africa. He will do a guest editing project highlighting those problems and his solutions in an upcoming edition of the magazine.

It appears that Mr. Carter would like to finesse this project to someone who eagerly embraces the challenge. Also, it's a cinch that Carter's staff would not get the circulation boost that Bono might give. I believe that both Carter and Bono mean well. But as the saying goes, " The road to perdition is paved with good intentions".

Simply, Bono's answer to Africa's problem is more of the same, I.E. an industrialization of Africa and massive amounts of aid that only serve to addict to dependancy people who need something else. Africa is different. It's peoples have in large part rejected the western civilization's economic model. The aid that has been indiscriminately despensed to African nations this past 40 years ( amounts to app. $600 billion in todays dollars) has been gobbled up or misused by corrupt governments. The diseases that ravage the African continent have only gotten worse. Of these scourges, malnutrition is the biggest killer. Overpopulation in dry-land ecosystems is the reason.

Africa's salvation lies in an African model not a western civilization model. Africa should be conserved and it's peoples should be the stewards. In this pursuit the west could help by promoting conservation, family planning and tourism

" Right Stuff Quiz " At The Department Of Defense

The Freedom of Information Act enabled the publication of this " Right Stuff Quiz " given to prospective D.O.D. new hires. It goes like this:

" You are watching the kick-off of the Super Bowl. Suddenly you smell smoke coming from another room in your home. Choose the best response to demonstrate your ability to cope with threats".

a) continue to watch the game
b) alert your family
c) run out of your house
d) call the fire department
e) watch only the kick return and then go to your fireproof study/bunker to complete your design on a new nuclear weapon.

The Bush Administration on Friday announced the winner of the new design of a new class of nuclear weapons. The first such weapon in 20 years. The State Department alerted Russia and China immediately " Not to Worry."

America doesn't need a new arms race. Ergo the power to wage war should be only in the hands of the people voting in the majority in a NATIONAL REFERENDUM ON WAR. Then the warmongers will have to diversify out of their core business and there will be less pressure for war in the future.

P.S. The new hires at the D.O.D. choose "e" in the quiz.

Who Has The Power To Wage War ?

The Miller Center of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia is asking the question, " Who has the power to wage war ?". The question is directed to 12 former government officials and scholars. The group includes, James Baker III, Warren Christopher, Lee Hamilton, Edwin Meese and Brent Scowcroft. Is it the executive or the legislative branch or a combination of both ? The question needs a long overdue answwer when the fiascos of Viet Nam, Iraq and maybe Iran are considered.

The answer to the question, both philosophically and practically speaking, point to having the power reside with a majority of people. They will make the sacrifice and by extension have the legitimate authority to wage war. Only when a majority of most everyone is on board for war will the mandate be compelling and the chances of winning the war more likely. This mechanism for war requires the establishment of a NATIONAL REFERENDUM ON WAR.

War is too costly to be controlled by politicians and lobbyists.

Dick Cheney: A Dead Hero Or A Live Criminal ?

" Today Dick Cheney gave his life for his country". That's how news reports would have carried the story if a Taliban suicide bomber was successful today at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. Instead Dick was kept in his bunker and is still alive. Another dodged bullit by the 6-time deferred participant in the Viet Nam War. He also was a recent no-show with supporting testimony for his former chief-of staff " Scooter" Libby's perjury trial.

But the Dick is still with us. And he will continue to be dispised by most of the people around the world who know something of the misery that he and his cretin operative a.k.a. George Bush have created. It's funny. If he had died, he would be the honored dead. But he lives and will continue to be the despised criminal that he has been.

In a better government paradigm, scum like Cheney would never have had a postion with so much power. I.E. if war was only possible through a NATIONAL REFERENDUM.

Palestinians Should Barter With Supporters And Doners

The recent Palestinian " unity government" brokered by the Saudis goes a long way in stopping a civil war between Hamas and Fatah in the occupied territories. Notably the civil war was one that was hoped for and actively supported by the U.S. and Israel. Nonetheless the "unity government" does not meet the the hurdles that the U.S. and Israel have constructed. So the financial embargo led by America will stay in place and Palestinian tax revenues will continue to be embargoed by Israel.

But other European countries joined by Russia like the " unity government" plan and are willing to break with the U.S. and send financial aid to the beleagured Palestinians. But they don't want to run the finacial-blockade set up by America's de facto control of the worldwide financial system. America could retaliate with severe penalties and shut down the electronic payments anyway.

So what should the Palestinians and the coalition of willing doners do? How about having a bartered relationship with the donors? For example, the Palestinians could petition interested countries for manufacturing infrastructure and raw materials for products that the donors want and in turn the donors would provide the necessities of life to the Palestinians.

Bill & Hillary Clinton: A Hound & His Bitch

Team HillBilly were in San Francisco last night at a $ 200,000 fund- raiser. They are still livid about David Geffen's remarks about them and the $ 1.3 million fund- raiser that he threw for Barack Obama. This was demonstrated by Hillary's preemptive protest that " [ Bill Clinton ] is the most popular person in the world right now". Like the Bill Clinton presidency became more about his white trash behavior than about the issues facing the country, Hillary's campaign will constantly be dogged by her hound-dog husband's past. Right now his bitch seems to be going along.

Axis Of Guilt Mongers: A Jew, A Black & A Carpetbagger

The dream team of the worst caricatures of the civil rights movement were slinging politically incorrect arrows at each other yesterday. It all started with a N.Y.T article by Maureen Dowd who interviewed Jewish entertainment mogul David Geffen. Geffen raised $18 million for the Clintons in the early 90's. But now he's throwing his formidable support behind African-American Barack Obama. According to the article, Geffen doesn't like Hillary's Iraq war postion and Billy's " reckless" behavior.

Obama was never for the war . Also Obama's race is playing a subtle role in the Clinton and Geffen sparing. Jews and blacks have been the traditional ball bearings for the advancement of liberal social policies in the U.S. But carpetbaggers like the Clintons have packaged the Jews and blacks as their stock-in-trade for their own political/economic advancement. So with Obama's ballistic rise in political promise it kind of leaves carpetbagger Clinton without a cause, client and a livelihood.

Well the war has produced one positive result, albeit tragically puny.

Needless Animal Testing For HIV/AIDS Cure

Bill and Melinda Gates recently donated $24 million to the Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative. The Canadian government is funding an additional $95 million for a total of $119 million. The initiative is commited to a vaccine in 10 years.

A large part of this research involves animal testing. Poor hapless animals that have survived millions of years of the challenges from the natural world will now be tossed away in the quest for a cure from unprotected sodomy and/or using dirty needles in drug abuse.

We already have a cure for HIV/AIDS. It's called prevention.

Exergames: Poor Parental Substitute For Overweight Or Obese Children

Thirty percent of U.S. kids aged 6-19 are overweight or obese. The main reasons given are poor diet and or lack of exercise. But those reasons take the problem out of context. Parents are supposed to raise children. This includes serving proper foods and guiding kids into healthy physical habits,i.e. EXERCISE. So it would seem that close to 30% of parents have not fulfilled their responsibilities.

Enter "exergames", they pick up where bad or no parental supervision leave off. These hybrid video game and exercise machine are found increasingly in school gyms around the country. The contraption couples a video game with an exercising component to encourage players to vigorously exercise and simultaneously be better able to win the video game. Isn't this pathetic? Why aren't the children doing mandatory physical education work outs? Why not team sports and the challenge of competing? It would be cheaper and a real-world instructor is more helpful. An instructor would also give children experience in taking instruction in a team or greater social atmosphere. This has far greater applications in later life.

Classical history is full of raising children with a strong physical component. Have schools done their job by graduating obese or near-invalidic children? Still parents have the primary responsibility in raising their own children. Maybe parents and their obese offspring should be discriminated against. How about paying higher insurance premiums? It is long past due to stop pretending that people who choose or are chosen for to be overweight should be treated equally with those who WORK at being fit.

Bring Back The Wildfowl

According to tthe Bay Conservation And Development Commission, the predicted 3 feet rise in ocean waters will change the Bay Area landscape dramatically. Notably the 3 feet rise which is possible by the year 2100 is a median estimate. Some estimates range as high as a 15 foot increase. Areas lost to the rising waters will vary according to elevation, from a few feet to miles or more.

And so the alchemy of filling in the bay for the past 100 years so that land and wealth could be created is turning into another foolhardy scheme. Variations on this not-thought-through plan are increasingly being replicated around the globe today. Indonesia, Phillipines, Bangladesh and others are recent examples of what clearing tree cover and building communities on flood plains or unappropriate sites produce in disaters.

The Bay Area has time to prepare. But dikes, sea walls , levees or berms are not the answer. Just remember Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans. Less population and responsible conservation is the answer. The net effect of the coming inundation will give better situated Bay Area residents a second chance to see what the Bay looked like before real estate developers showed up. Personally I look forawrd to seeing more wildfowl.

Bill Clinton Is No Gentleman & G.W. Bush Is No Moral Alternative

Do you realize that if Hillary is elected Bill becomes First Gentleman? Would that be more Kafkaesque or more Orwellian? Or would it be just dumb? George W. Bush got elected because he was perceived as the moral alternative to the wide-ranging, largely illegal antics of Team HillBilly's presidency. Bush is moral? Yeah, right! Bush is seriously dumb and not a moral leader. Also the candidates that are now presented by both republicans and democrats all seem to be raised in the same lobby-fed kennel. Yes lobbies play a big part in distorting American politics but I think the problem goes a bit deeper.

Where's the critical thinking ability of America? Has our quest for "equality" in policies made illegal the self evident fact that "we are known by our differences"? Have non-discrimination laws outlawed or impaired critical thinking? Our civil rights laws resemble an instruction manual that is sent with appliances. Where's the space for subtly and nuanced thinking ? The original reason for civil rights laws was justified but the writing and implementation of those laws have brought unintended consequences. Laws that don't allow for physical facts or personal expression will fail to the degree of that omission.

" The Manchurian Candidate" & Israel's Candidates

" The Manchurian Candidate" is a 1962 movie based on John Condon's novel. It is an excellent , intriguing story about a brainwashed ex-G.I. who is to make way for a Chinese- controled American president through an assasination.

How things have changed in America! Now all you need is money and a relentless propaganda campaign to get Americans to do things that are not in their best interest. And so, enter Israel's candidates for the U.S. presidency.

Recently presidential hopeful John Edwards made a low-profile pilgramage to Israel. He was kowtowing and seeking support from the powers that be in American politics. I.E. the Israeli/Jewish lobby. These Isreali foreigners back AIPAC, The Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations and other pro-Israel organizations and media propagandists. Edwards promised that his presidency's postion on Iran " would have all options on the table". He meant that a U.S. preemptive strike against Iran including a nuclear-tipped one would be an option.

Last year Hillary made the same pilgramage and pledge. She also supports Israel's seperation/apartheid wall, exclusive Israeli control of Jerusalem and " no right of return" for the ethnically- cleansed Palestinian refugees. Those particular postions insure that there will be no peace in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Her presidency would only extend the crimes of the Bush/Israel presidency.

Iran and the greater Middle East is not nor should it be a natural enemy of the U.S. But pro-Israel lobbies and media influence changed that. Simply Israel is not worth the focus of American foreign policy. The U.S. should not shelter Israeli criminal behavior.

Douglas Feith: Israel Connection In Pentagon

Bombshell news that embarass administrations are strategically announced late on Fridays. Most people are gone by then. And so the results of the Dept. of Defense Inspector General's investigation into the suspect pre-war Iraq intelligence was released today. The report was filled with discriptions of the intelligence as " inconsistent, misleading, dubious quality and not appropiate" etc. The criticism was directed at the pre-war Office of Special Plans that was run by then Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Douglas Feith.

Feith is widely known as a neocon. But his backround screams another discription. How about Zionist zealot or Israeli partisan or maybe an Israeli agent ? Here is a partial rap sheet on Feith:

1) During the Reagan Administration , he was forced out of his spot at the National Security Council by an F.B.I. investigation. He was suspected of feeding secret information to Israel.

2) Feith was assistant to scandal-ridden Richard Perle at the Dept. of Defense during the G.H.W. Bush administration. They both advocated a U.S. , Turkey, Israel axis to combat Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria. Sound familiar?

3) Feith left the Dept. of Defense to co-found the law firm of Feith and Zell. Their only clients were Israeli armament dealers that sold to America's Dept. of Defense.

4) He has written and spoke much about Israel's strategic goals and how to accomplish those goals. These papers included:

a) " Reflections on Liberalism, Democracy and Zionism", which was prepared for The Jewish Institute For National Security Affiars. The paper advocated that Israel be a pure Jewish state.

b) Feith teamed up with Richard Perle and David Wurmser to write " A Clean Break: A New Strategy For Securing The Realm[Israel]". It was presented to The Israeli Institute for Advanced Strategic and Political Studies. The paper advocated scrapping the 1993 Oslo Peace Accords. Also it urged Israel " work with Turkey and Jordan to contain, destabalize and roll back reginal threats, help overthrow Saddam Hussein and strike military targets in Lebanon and possibly Syria". This paper was done in 1997. Looks like everything is going according to plan.

c)Feith belongs to the Zionist Organization of America. This groups does not back a Palestinian state nor does it "support land for peace". Douglas and his father Dalck received the ZOA's Louis D.Brandeis Award. It's given to deserving activist supporters of Israeli interests and the Israeli state.

Feith should not have been in charge of Policy at the D.O.D. He obviously was biased towards an Israel-first policy. He should be prosecuted for espionage and maybe treason.

Mice In The Senate. We Need A Horse.

Too much politics have emasculated our senators and turned them into cowering mice. The voter rejection of the war and the mandate to end the war has not trumped the senatorial cowards seeking political cover . So thousands still die in Iraq with no end in sight.

The Roman Emperor Caligula had somewhat the same situation with his senate. What the issue was, I don't know. But in a symbolic gesture, he brought in a real horse into the Roman Curia. Caligula's message was simple, cut the political posturing and show some horse/common sense.

Obama Can Beat Clinton

Senator Hillary Clinton's campaign committee announced today requests for individual donations ranging from $ 25,000 to $ 1,000,000. She already has app. $ 11,000,000 on hand. This insures that a Clinton presidency would mean an increase in the size and cost of Washinton's government. Right now she is auctioning off our federal government to the highest bidders.

Clinton was the 60's hippy-type, social activist that exploited the African-American civil rights movement to her own benefit. She then became the quasi-criminal with her husband Bill in Arkansas politics. She was and is a carpetbagger. Only her advocacies and price tags have changed. Her biggest advocacy and source of a lot of contributions is the Israel-first group that populates Manhattan.

Her original civil rights work was effective. So much so that now Barack Obama, an African-American, is a serious candidate for the presidency also. It's kind o' like the plantation worker is running against the plantation owner. But Obama has some real personal strengths that will do well agaist Clinton's weaknesses. He has wit, charm and comes off as an honest concerned candidate. She has none of those qualities.

So even though Obama has only $500,000 on hand, he could prove to be the candidate that Clinton has to beat. Look for a lot of dirty tactics by Clinton's human- Rottweiller, James Carville.

New Orleans: Excuse African-American Criminal Youth Problem ?

Poor New Orleans. What Hurricane Katrina left of the city could be wiped out by the prevailing crime wave of resident criminals. Former residents are not moving back to the city. And some residents are leaving.

This year started off with a bang. In the first 3 weeks, there has been an average of 5 murders per week. This puts N.O. on track for over 250 killings for the full year. In comparison, New York City's murders totaled app. 600 in 2006. But New York has 20 times the population.

Why all the murders in New Orleans? Apologists for the city blame local schools, poor economic opportunities for youths, drugs and guns. Gee. How does a school building, paid teachers, books on math, english and science create murderers? How do guns kill someone unless someone buys, loads, points and fires the gun? How do drugs get into someone unless that someone self-administers the drugs? How come New Orleans has existed for over 300 years but only now can't provide economic opportunities for it's youths?

No. The problem is elsewhere. Could it be that African-American youths who make up the vast majority of the criminal class in New orleans don't get it? Or they don't want to get it? And what is "it" ? "It" is discipline.

Mayor Gavin Newsom Damages Credibility ?

Some San Franciscans are shocked about Mayor Newsom's affair with an employee who was also the wife of another employee. They say that damages his credibility.

What credibility? He ran for the mayor's office as a conservative and then immediatly jumped to the far-left with his homosexual marriage fiasco. He ran as a married man. But immediatly following the election his wife moved to New York and shortly thereafter they were divorced. Newsom's campaign montage of his personal life included a home and furnishings that he in fact didn't own! And what's more Bill Clinton is Gav's personal hero.

Newsom supporters remind of of Inspector Renault in the movie " Casablanca". Renault is "shocked that there is gambling at Rick's" and this is almost simultaneous with the roulette croupier handing him his payoff/winnings.

No. Newsom is an accurate representative of his voters. His screwing of an employee is merely the incarnation of his whole political philosophy.

Israel's Slow Motion Genocide Creates It's Own Slow Motion Suicide

" Ye reap what ye sow", so goes the biblical caveat. And so Israel's slow motion, 60 year-old genocide against the Palestinians creates a parallel slow motion Israeli suicide. It reminds of the Israeli mass suicide at Masada over 2000 years ago.

Consider Palestine as a plant and the policies of Israel as a herbacide that is administered in recurring , measured doses. Not enough for an outright kill off but enough for some killing but also a chance for mutant strains of Palestinian resistence to build up a tolerance. The new resitant strain takes the name of Hamas. And so the cynical Israelis and their counterparts in the Bush administration launch a new eradication campaign. And they arm Fatah against Hamas. Any Palestinians civilians caught in the middle can go to hell.

The doses of greed and conniving that created Israel and that have maintained it these past 60 years now show a half-life of toxicity that has built up in the Israeli state. The great greed now becomes an impediment to better judgement and peace so that Israel's existence is now in doubt.

Africa: Tourists Like It Natural

Increasing scientific evidence points to a significant migration out of Africa about 50,000 years ago. They were homo sapiens. The parts of the earth that they populated were never the same. Species of flora and fauna became extinct because of man's ability with tools. The high-technology that followed made the original relationship of man and his earth almost unrecognizable. Add to that, laws, politics, religion and other human alchemical social schemes and we end up with a neurotic primate euphemistically described as modern man. We have too much civilization.

According to Madrid-based World Tourism Organization, Africa led all other nations in 2006 in attracting tourists. African tourism jumped 8.1%. In contrast, the U.S. saw a 2% increase in the same period. The reasons that the tourists gave for picking an African destination included primarily the natural geography, wildlife and the pace of life. Many tourists said or paraphrased, " It's like going home".

The New World in many respects has not improved on the original natural landscape and it's wildlife. Africa should mostly be left alone. It's highest and best use is to be a conserved natural place that is witness to what was.

Cluster Bombs In Lebanon: Israeli Hutzpah

Congress will be notified on Monday that Israel's bombardment of Lebanon this summer violated " use permits" of America-made cluster-bombs. Simply the Israelis used the bomblets on civilians.

The Israelis responeded characteristicaly by blaming the Lebanese civilians, including children, for being in the way. They also bragged that they make their own cluster-bombs and any American cut-off would not hurt them.

Yeah right. But the bombs wouldn't be free and the U.S. wouldn't be underwriting Israeli war crimes.

Hedge Fund Operators & Politicians

Stephen A. Schwarzman, co-founder of the giant hedge fund Blackstone Group, is throwing himself another expensive, conspicuously consumptive party. This multi-million dollar affair hails his 60th birthday. He's a perfect example of the billionaire hedge fund operators that are increasingly rolling off of America's financial entrepeneur assembly line. He deals in the abstract of the industrial revolution. He deals in paper that represents physical assets and peoples jobs. Wall St. is the incarnation of this kind of alchemy. Wealth is created without a creative product.

But in Mr. Schwarzman's defense, his function is more legitimate than our politicians. Talk about alchemy! Our reps in government auction off the rights and products of their constituents to the lobbies with the highest bids. The expensive, conspicuously consumptive parties that these poltical parties throw are paid for by campaign contributions. The political alchemists only add their abundant hubris to promote themselves.

Hillary Clinton For President ?

America has certainly sunk lower. How else can the rising of Hillary to be the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nominee be explained? Have most people forgot that it was the antics of Bill and Hillary's presidency that gave us the backlash candidate George W. Bush ? We went from Clinton's no moral compass to Bush's fanatical, god-given compass.

Normally it takes a generation or 2 for a society to make the same mistake again. But maybe because of our cluttered, noisy society, we forget sooner. Her quasi-criminal background now is added to being a stooge for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

Iraqi Parliament: Unsustainable Bribery

Iraqi members of Parliament draw a salary and benefits equal to $ 120,000 per year. In relative GDP figures, it is like our members of Congress earning $ 3,000,000 per year. This is the Middle East model for democracy as per George Bush.

Historically, democracy has always grown organically from the people who were to be governed. I.E. it started at the bottom and worked up. But the Bush model relies on bribes to militia heads to go through the motions of democratic governence.

Who's being made a fool, Bush et al, Iraqi members of parliament or American soldiers and taxpayers ? Bush and Iraqi parliamentarians collect salaries for their time. American soldiers and taxpayers pay the bills.

Bush And Christians Should Give Up On Jews

The Bush war policies have an Evangelical-Christian basis. Bush is a born-again Christian. His invasion of Iraq and his attempts to make over tens of thousands of years of history in the Middle East follows biblical predictions as per The Apocalypse ( Book Of Revelations ). Apocalypse fortells the "fall of Babylon" which is modern day Iraq. It fortells the " New Jerusalem". This is modern day Israel. Never mind that it was created by a rigged United Nations vote in 1947, it will do for a "miracle". But also Apocalyptic predictions foretell the wiping out of all Jews save 144,000 who embrace Jesus' second coming and convert to Christianity!

Biblical Jews thought Jesus nothing more than a troublesome hippy-type. And so they demanded that the Roman governor Pontius Pilate crucify him. And the rest is history. But now Bush is on the verge of bombing Iran and widening his failed, biblical war. Bush should refresh himself of what The Apocalypse provides. God as per St. John's Apocalypse has fortold the wiping out of the Jews. Why should America get in the way? After all what have the Jews ever done for Christians?

What About Environmental Capitalism?

Since all financial philosophies and models ultimately rely on the planets resources to redeem those schemes, why not model a new capitalism on being a husband and steward to the earths riches. Then one would be truly wealthy.

Hey Norman Mailer, What About Genocide In Slow Motion?

Poor Norman Mailer. With his 84th birthday approaching, one would think he would have some wisdom to share with his readers. But his latest book," The Castle In The Forest" is just more shock at Hitler and the Holocaust.

According to reviewers, Mailer's explanation of Hitler is couched in Freudian and devilish, dark forces. This includes incest. I wonder what Mailer thinks about Prime Ministers of Israel? From Ben-Gurion through Olmert, a slow motion genocide against Palestinians has been perpetrated versus Hitler's Blitzkrieg style. Does incest or the devil have anything to do with slow motion genocide?

Nancy Pelosi Versus George Bush

Yesterday Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi vented her cynical and probably accurate opinions of President Bush's "Iraqi surge" plans on ABC's " Good Morning America".

Among other barbs and direct attacks she said,"..the president has to answer for his war. He has dug a hole so deep he can't even see the light. It's a tradgedy. It's a stark blunder." Also she said, " The president knows that because the troops are in harm's way that we [ congress ] won't cut off the resources. That's why he's moving so quickly to put them in harm's way."

Brava! No mincing there. No respect to a president who has no respect for most everything. Nancy Pelosi's attacks on George Bush will become legend. Hopefully she will embolden others to speak out forcefully and fearlessly to other abusers of power in our government. If her convictions and strength can be harnessed to government reforms and policies that rely on market-oriented and individual responsibility, then she will go a long way.

Nancy Pelosi is starting out to be the voice of authority that our bratty, moronic president never had and now needs. She is the quasi - mother figure who tells Georgie to clean up his Iraqi sand box and put his harmful toys away.

Why Prevent Golden Gate Bridge Suicides?

" To be or not to be...", starts the soliloquy from Hamlet. The question has a timely application to the recurring debate on whether to construct a suicide prevention barrier on the Bridge.

According to todays San Francisco Chronicle, there were 23 suicides from the span in 2005. That number was less than 4% of the total of all suicides in the Bay Area during the period. Yet the meager percentage is the basis of arguments for constructing a barrier. The barriers cost to the public is estimated in the tens of millions. Some of the proponents have humane motivations. Others have monetary or political reasons.

But the public doesn't know the reasons of the jumpers. Since the public is paying, they have the right to know what personal decisions of the jumpers they are interfering with. Maybe suicide was a reasonable and appropriate response to the jumpers problems. Maybe if the public knew what these jumpers were avoiding in real life they would have assisted the jumpers.

Ergo. Without full disclosure of jumper's circumstances, fuding of a barrier would be made on insufficient data.

Barack Obama: Outsider?

Barack Obama will run for the U.S. presidency. The civil rights movement policies guarnteed that in the end an African-American would finally get a chance. But will it also ironically coincide with an end to the civil rights movement? Has America's guilt been expurgated?

Obama is certainly pleasant and at ease in speaking. He smiles and is witty. In these mannerisms he is unlike his competition. But what are his policies? And what methods will he use to achieve those policies fulfillment? Will they be market-oriented solutions or government-mandated? He's running as an outsider. But his backround says no. He was an attorney and a politician. Both professions suceed only on redistributuion of wealth which defines insider politics.

Obama might win. He has the attributes and postioning of 2 former presidents. He's as telegenic as Reagan. And he's in the same postion tactically as Carter. Carter caught American in the rebound fromNixon/Watergate.

But will all this make him a good president? I suspect that Washington will change him more than he will change Washington.

Iraqi & Semitic Refugees In America: A Solution For The Zionist Problem?

Gallows humor is almost never funny. But the essence of humor is truth.

And so the exploding number of Iraqi refugees may provide a humane final solution to the Zionist problem in America. In short the U.S. should let in at least 5 million Iraqi refugees to offset the Zionist/Jewish vote. After all the U.S. destroyed Iraq. So the Iraqis are eligible both legally and morally to gain citizenship here. The new Iraqi-Americans are semitic. So they can't be called anti-semitic when they criticize pro-Israel policies in American politics.

It's noteworthy that the last great dislocation of people in the Middle East was also motivated by Zionist/Israeli objectives. That event was when historic Palestine was partitioned in a rigged 1947 United Nations vote blessed with President Truman's nod. The constructive genocide of Palestinians continues to this day.

For it's own good,America needs more semitic non-Zionist citizens .

A Spoiled White Man, A Yenta & A Pickaninny

Why does America's politics produce so many caricatures? Is it the combination of the great wealth of this country coupled with an increasingly leisure-seeking and dumber electorate? The great wealth allows full implimentation of the best and worst policies. And the dumber electorate requires ever more stark choice at the ballot box because the voters "don't want to bother or get nuance".

Example? How about the exchange yesterday between Senator Barbara Boxer and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. Senator Boxer is a yenta, a meddlesome Jewess. Secretary Rice is a pickaninny, a diminutive African-American who is in over her head. They were debating the future of the failed U.S. colonial adventure in Iraq. This failed policy is still being advocated by the spoiled white man who is also our President George W. Bush. This is the moron who undoubtedly has not let historical experience enter into his decision and planning processes.

In a non-political occupation, I doubt that this threesome could wield the power or earn the money that American politics affords them. So? Instead of enabling monstrous caricatures, the power and money flow to Washington should be reveresd. More of the power and money should stay in the states and local governments. This way U.S. politics will create smaller and less harmful caricatures.

America: Israel And Zionist's Slave

Mark Twain once observed, " Ninty percent of people would rather do anything but think". By implication he described those same people as being more comfortable in being led and/or being quasi-slaves. He also is describing the relationship America has with Israel and it's Zionist supporters.

How slave-like or stupid is American foreign policy vis a vis Israel? Well, to follow the tasks set out by Israel, America must forgo most other postive relationships in the Middle East. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting Israel's constructive genocide of the Palestinians. It includes the Iraqi invasion. It includes supporting Israel's barbaric war crimes in Lebanon. It includes the prospective bombing of Iran and/or Syria.

Jimmy Carter's recent book, " Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid", is a serious examination of Israeli atrocites against the Palestinians. For his efforts, he has been called anti-semitic. Nothing could be further from the truth. Israelis and Zionists will get more criticism and deservedly so. If they want to make the world over into their selfish view, severe criticism goes with the territory.

Progressives In San Francisco?

What's a progressive by San Francisco standards? The new president of S.F.'s Board of Education is called a progressive. He is Mark Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez is a homaosexual, latino, socialist mix who favors more African-American remedial help. He also favors a proactive homosexual orientation for any children that are toying with the ideas of an alternative lifestyle. This is progressive? It's more like a virulent distillation of failed mutant parts of the Civil Rights Acts that we all have suffered through these past 40 plus years.

What does S.F. need to do to be called truly progressive? How about not dragging down the general school population to the level and advancement of chronic laggards in the classrooms, no matter what race. Those underacheivers should be segregated among their peers. Also homosexual orientation and counseling is more appropiately administered by health care workers. They can better inform and guide juvenile minds about the serious health issues associated with that life choice.

Now that would be progressive.

Baghdad Chaos: Hey George, Surge This !

Bush, our moronic, brat-in-chief, will make an Iraqi policy speech this Wednesday. He is expected to call for a "surge" of 20,000 additional U.S. troops to pacify Baghdad. Also, get this, he will call for an additional $ 1 billion for rebuilding projects in Baghdad that will be directed at Iraqi-only contractors ( is this a bribe?). It's a clean-up-as-you-destroy project.

The surge will fail. New York City employs app. 40,000 police for a city of similar size in a relatively blissful atmosphere. Someone tell me how the American soldiers know who the enemy is ? They don't wear uniforms. Even the Iraqis don't know who they are kidnapping. Note that some kidnapped victims are relaesed while others are tortured and killed.

How about not destroying Baghdad so we will not have to rebuild it? Hey Bush, surge this!

Islamist's Defeat Is Somalia's Loss ?

Consider this analogy. Mogadishu, Somalia and surrounding areas are like an American slum or blighted-urban area. The warlords in Somalia are like the rival gangs in American crime hot spots. They both deal in drugs, commit murders, rob, rape and sell protection to the "civilians" caught in the crossfire. These dismal facts have persisted in Somalia since 1991.

In 2006, The Somalia Islamic Courts Council ran the warlords out of Mogadishu. The ICC then administered Islamic Sharia Law. Drugs were banned. Rapes, murders and robberies nosedived because of the law's enforcement. Businessmen and residents liked and supported the legal paradigm. Now the ICC is gone because of C.I.A. backing of Ethiopia.

But absent the terrorist wing of Muslim law, couldn't criminal hotspots in America benefit from Sharia Law or some such discipline?

Excessive Corporate Executive Pay: Pigs Do Fly

Corporate executives have finally proven that pigs can fly. Well almost, they need multi-million dollar airplanes to pull it off. Yesterday Home Depot's CEO Robert Nardelli soared into the stratosphere with his $ 210 million severence package. That's on top of the $ 64 million in salary that he received these past 6 years while HD's stock was grounded.

He's the latest example of legal theivery. Stealing is defined as taking something that does not rightfully belong to you. Nardelli may have followed HD's corporate by-laws in setting up the pay package. But the size of the transfer of wealth from shareholders to management is equal to stealing valuable company assets. And no corporate by-laws condone or should codify stealing significant company assets.

Stockholders are the owners of the companies. They must have control over salaries of employees. Nardelli's self-dealing amounts to larceny.

Hedge Funds & Private Equity: Bite-size Poison

Today "The Wall Street Journal" carried an article titled, " Investors Riding The 'Cash' Rapids". The point of the article was that this time it's different, risk has finally become manageable to the point of being a financial non-event. Why? Because the new template used by fund mangers utilizes the securitization of debt tthat supports investments. So defaults become affordable. The debt is made into bite-sized portions that can be eaten by financial appetites of all sizes. So if the worst happens in an investment, the effects are muffled because of the broadness of the participants.

That's novel. So financial poison is less lethal if more is distributed in smaller doses. But what about the half-life of financial poison? Doesn't it build up in the financial body until a critical mass of poison kills the polluted financial system? Caveat emptor.

Predictions For Year 2007

1) Global warming's implications and remedies will have the largest philosophical influence in the public debate.

2) It will become apparant that the irresponsible population growth in emerging countries only exacerbates the problems of malnutrition, HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases. Also natural disasters such as storms, flooding, earthquakes etc. are also made worse because of overcrowding. For examples, clearing of the forrests take away the lands ability to absorb rain; poorly built dwellings can easily be shook apart by even mild earthquakes especially when the building sites are not appropriate.

3) There is an upside to finally dealing with global warming issues. Particularly with the new leadership in Congress. New legislation will come forth that will eventually change the industrial base in America from it's 20th century industrial revolution template. It will be replaced with an environmentally sustainable approach to manufacturing and living that will end up providing boom times for well-situated companies. Technology in particular will benefit. The NASDAQ should climb by at least 20% in 2007.

4) Dick Cheney will resign from office. He will cite health reasons. But he faces numerous lawsuits. They include: Plamegate; cooked-up Iraqi War intelligence; his "energy policy" meetings which includes warmongering with his old firm of Halliburton.

5) George Bush will appoint Condi Rice as Cheney's replacement. She will come in handy if Bush needs a pardon if he is forced out of office. But that is a long shot.

6)It looks like Clinton and Obama will be the democratic nominees for the presidential ticket. Who will be in which slot is not clear.

7) Good health and critical thinking are still the most important personal assets.

AIPAC And The Conference Of Presidents Of Major Jewish Organizations: The Problems And The Final Solution

The American Israeli Public Affairs Committee and The Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations together control over 50 pro-Israel PACs across America. Why is this a problem? It's the reason why America has a lopsided support of Israel that defies logic . Israel has nuclear arms and an arrogant attitude that is bordering on suicidal. The 50 PACs allows the limits of election contributions to be exceeded by a factor of 50. Most of these PACs are purposely, deceptively named to avoid scrutiny. This effectively allows AIPAC and The Conference to contribute more than $500,000 to each of our 535 members of Congress in each election cycle. The math adds up to a staggering $ 250,000,000 that is dangled in front of our spineless politicians.

Also the U.S. gives Israel each year over 3 billion dollars gratis. This giveawy has been going on since Jimmy Carter's Camp David's Accords in the late 1970's. No doubt some of that grant money is laundered in Israel and returned to America for dispersal to Israeli friendly members of Congress.

Israel is a foreign country that is not a contributing ally to American interests in the Middle East. They are a negative . So what can be done? Israel should be regulated as other foreign countries now are. Israeli agents should not be free to roam the halls of Congress like some quasi-51st state lobbying their interests. Israel's lobbyists should be rounded-up and and registered as the foreign influence that they truely are.

Criminal Poor Judgement: Extinct Baiji Dolphin & Iraq War

This week saw the rarest of all dolphins, the baiji, declared " functionally extinct ". It had existed in the Yangtze River for the past 20 million years. But with the construction of Three Gorges Dam, the dolphin has not been seen since 2003. The hydroelectric dam provides electricity for a portion of the 1.3 billion Chinese that now ravage that part of China.

This week also saw the hanging execution of Saddam Hussein. So far that is the only dubious accomplishment that our country has gotten for it's 500 billion spent in the ravaging of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Poor judgement was used in both cases. The fact that a handful of dolphins were too much and had to be forced out of existence so 1.3 billion Chinese could " advance" their consumerism is a crime. The fact the U.S. spent 1/2 trillion dollars, killed or dislocated millions of Iraqis while killing or maiming tens of thousands of American soldiers in the pursuit of an illegal war is also a crime.

And what will the punishment be for these crimes? The Chinese in the end will meet the same fate of all overpopulated species-they will starve down to a more appropriate head count. And hopefully the architects of the criminal and illegal Iraqi war should meet a similar Hussein-type fate.

Barter: Live Efficiently And Survive

No species has survived that was not efficient or resourceful, i.e. the low cost producer of it's own needs. Relationships are more important than money and are cheaper. Therefore a barter system at the personal and worldwide level will prevail against all competing monetary schemes.

Critical Thinking & Political Correctness

What comes first, paralysis of critical thinking or political correctness ? In other words, does one have to learn to do and say dumb things or does it come naturally? Well anyone can do or say dumb things but they can learn from their mistakes. But with respect to political correctness, dumb deeds and mantras are taught, repeatedly enforced and become part of the culture.

Philosophy Of Military-Industrial Complex: In Growth We Trust

The military-industrial complex philosophy is, In Growth We Trust. This is self-evident. But because of the limits imposed by a smallish planet, the MIC necessarily needs to be proactive. Therefore they will be seen to first blow-up something then rebuild it.

The appetite of the MIC will grow larger. But correspondingly the reasons to blow-up something will become smaller.

What Was The "Forbidden Fruit"?

Was it an apple like the bible says or was it meat?

Charles Dickens had one of his characters, I believe, in Oliver Twist, say, " Don't give meat to children, it makes them aggressive and mean." In the animal world meat-eaters are cunning and aggressive. Sometimes too aggressive for their own good. They end up dead because they exceeded their limitations. In the animal world plant-eaters use memory as their best defense. They are less likely to exceed their limitations. So there are more of them.

Do We Need More Muslim, Islamic Influence In America's Congress ?

Yesterday Congressman Virgil Goode, VA.- R insulted first-ever Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison,MN.-D . Goode said, " many more Muslims will be elected [ and swear on the Koran] unless immigration is tightened."

Consider this. America is like no other country on the planet. It was founded by immigrants and since has extended an invitation to other immigrants to come to the U.S. Whether that is a sustainable immigration philosophy is another issue for another time. The fact is that America has become a microcosom of the earths demographic, but with one glaring exception. Muslims who make up app. 1/3 of world population are not proportionately represented. Notably America's biggest problem has been and is the Middle East which is the homeland of the Muslim/Islamic faith and its politics.

It's in America's long term interest to achieve peace in that region. Therefore more representation of Muslims in Congress will be an excellent non-violent way to further that goal.

Need Larger Military Or Smaller Goals?

President Bush yesterday called for a larger military. Gee George, why would anyone want to give you more resources for your failed policies?

No matter who is the next president, America doesn't need a larger military. It needs smaller goals on the world scene that can be attained by our good example in a non-violent way. Should war ever be necessary, the mechanism for consideration and response should lie with the eletorate. A simple majority-approved vote in a national referendum would satisfy. The executive and the legislative branches of governmaent are not trustworthy.

Bush & Israeli Palestinian Policies Hit New Low

Bush and his Israeli handlers are not satisfied with the pace of the disintegration in Gaza . The constructive genocide by the Israelis and the world-wide economic embargo as enforced by U.S. leadership is not working as quickly as they had planned. So Bush et al have resorted to fomenting a civil war by picking and arming Fatah over the legally elected Hamas political party. Yes, Bush is now arming street fighters as a way to further American foreign policy as per the Zionists approved view.

So what happens when the American-backed Fatah starts to edge out lesser- equipped Hamas partisans? Look for suicide bombers to crop up. How will non-combatant Palestinians know how to stay out of the crossfire? No one wears uniforms.

Bush is leading America to another new low of what's left of U.S. standing in the world. And for what purpose? Israel? It's not worth it.

Preemptive Wars Should Be Lost

Almost 4 years have passed since the invasion of Iraq. The unilateral descisions taken by Bush were a breach of U.N. protocols. Since the invasion, facts have emerged to substantiate the charge made by many that Bush's reasons and charges against Saddam Hussein,WMD, al-Qaeda connection, have been exposed as false and even fraudulently constructed.

In any circumstance, the war was and is a preemptive war. Also the policy of preemptive war initiated by Bush still exists in the U.S. . America should not have this policy. America should not win preemptive wars nor should any other aggressor nations, because that will only invite more war.

Holocaust, Affirmative Action & Divine Right Of Kings

First there was the divine rights of kings and caesars. After those excesses came power-sharing with parliaments and legislators with a more sustainable governing paradigm. So much so that the British monarchy has become a rubber stamp for England's Parliament.

Then comes the inevitable excesses of demagoguery that markets guilt for perceived past injustices. This includes affirmative action to remedy slavery, reparations to Japanese for internment and the creation of Israel to pay for the Holocaust.

But there is a blowback and resistance by present-day people who resent being dunned for a guilt bill that they didn't run up. So for all who still want something for nothing, the party is coming to an end.

Melinda Gates: Mother Who Adopts Millions

There is a Chinese proverb, " When you save a life, you become responsible for that life." I doubt Melinda Gates, wife of Bill and the philosophical driving force of the Gates Foundation, knows of the proverbs implication. Because when Melinda and Bill spend billions on the prevention of death from, HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis they have according to the proverb assumed responsibility for those saved lives.

The facts of life show that malnutrition kills more people worldwide than the 3 scourges put together. Malnutritution is a direct result of overpopulation. If the Gates Foundation really wants to make a long term improvement in world health, then they should spend resources on preventing births in the locales that cannot support further population growth.

Why America Lost Iraq

Did you know that an American soldier's personal equipment costs $ 24,800.00 ? That's up from $ 7000.00 per soldier in 1999.

The typical Iraqi insurgent's equipment amounts to $200.00 for a Kalishnakov and $ 100.00 for an I.E.D.( improvised explosive device).

The American soldier is backed-up by helicopters, jets, tanks, humvees, artillery, drone aircrft, missles etc. These and the logistics of a 15,000 mile supply chain cost the U.S. app. $ 9 billion per month. And the U.S. is still losing. In a war it's not about the money spent that makes the difference between victory and defeat it's about determination. America has no legitimate reason for being in Iraq. On the other hand the Iraqis are the low-cost producers of war and are determined to live there without an occupier.

Jimmy Carter: Gets No Respect From The New York Times

Today The New York Times' Best Seller list omitted Jimmy Carter's new book, " Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid". Amazon listed the book at #5; Barnes & Noble carried it #10; and the San Francisco Chronicle's Bay Area Best Seller List ( largest market in U.S.) listed the book at #2. What's up at the N.Y.T. ?

Maybe Jimmy stepped over the line. He had the courage to criticize the Israeli policy of constructive genocide against the Palestinians in his latest book. But he knows of what he speaks . He was the president who coaxed, some say bribed, Egypt to sign a peace treaty with Israel in the early '80s. Both countries still receive billions from America to be publically polite to each other. But what has Jimmy done for the Israeli zealots lately? So maybe The New York Times is refusing to acknowledge Carter's best selling book because of spite.

If this is true, then the paper should be more accurately titled The Jew York Times.

Israel's Apartheid Wall Invites Questions

Is the seperation wall to keep people out or keep people in? Do the Israelis agree with the historical consensus that they need to be segregated or do they segregate the Palestinians ?

Before there were the Palestinian Liberation Organization, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and others there were Zionists. Don't confuse the symptons for the cause.

What Does It Mean To Be Queer ?

New York City is about to let sex-confused or NOT confused- depending on who you ask- to alter original birth certificates. This latest mutation in the civil rights movement is certainly breaking new ground. Notably, one needn't have had a sex-change operation to qualify. A simple declaration is sufficient. Evidently the Trojan Horse for this new rule is discrimination against those who could not afford an operation. Advocates cite this as a monetary hurdle that makes the New York Health System " biased".

The question is, who is queer? The poor confused- sexually conflicted individual or the health officials who are indulging them? The latter seem to be more queer. Because presumably they know what sex they are but are willing to let others question and discard the need for truth in the phyical world. I.E passion and emotion trump fact.

Can't Close Education Gaps : Good News And Bad News

Now as Congress looks at reauthorizing No Child Left Behind, reports are being published about results about the program so far. For instance, " The [educational] gaps between African-Americans and whites are showing very few signs of closing.", that is according to Michael T. Nettles, a vice-president at the Educational Testing Service.

Considering how far academic standards have been degraded in the pursuit of integrated education along with affirmative action, that news contains both postive and negative signs. It's negative that blacks still languish. But it is good because it shows an inflexion point in our education system that whites and Asians students can't or will not become anymore stupid to facilitate affirmative action and integration of schools based on political objectives rather than academic objectives.

Homo Sapiens Or Frivolous Primate ?

Recent discoveries at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany show the Neanderthal to be 99.5 % our equal in DNA. Excavated evidence leads to the theory that homo sapiens encountered the Neanderthal about 40,000 ago . About that same time the Neanderthal started on a road of extinction. Notably the Neanderthal had existed for 450,000 prior to their demise. In comparison Homo Sapiens has only existed for about 50,000 years. The reason that is speculated for the waxing of Homo Sapiens and the waning of Neanderthal was the advanced tool-making ability of Homo Sapiens. These tools were not only helpful for hunting and farming but also for war-making. I.E. Homo Sapiens killed Neanderthals.

Well here we are in the 21st century with scant hope that Homo Sapiens with his nuclear bombs , biological weapons, high-tech war machine and general degrading of the planet will last as long as the Neaderthals experience of 450,000 years. What's to be done? I suspect that the longevity of our species would be enhanced by looking to the low-tech model of the Neanderthal and adapting their more more basic and conservative approach to survival versus the high-tech arrogant approach of Homo Sapiens a.k.a. the frivolous primate.

What Price Art ?

This past week saw a record breaking auction at Sotheby's. The gavel went down on $ 491 million worth of paintings. It included a Gauguin that went for $ 40 million and a Klimt at $ 88 million. The month also registered the highest priced transaction ever. Steven A. Cohen, a hedge fund manager, paid $ 137 million for de Kooning's " Woman III". The seller was the equally successful record producer David Geffen.

Why are these paintings selling at exorbitant prices? Is there an intrinsic value? No. The value of the ingredients that de Koonig, Gauguin and Klimt used probably added up to less than a $ 100 dollars . The value-added that propels that $ 100 dollars to close to $ 265 million for the 3 paintings is the painters unique talent multiplied by the expansion of money in circulation since the paintings creation.

The paintings cannot be duplicated. Unlike the world of Cohen and Geffen where monetary transactions are repeated with a margin of profit being produced. The paintings are " one of". Maybe the real value of this uniqueness can better be appreciated by mercantile-types like Cohen and Geffen. Another way of looking at these tranactions is to view them as a place to store production of work a.k.a money. In the future, the Klimt, Gauguin and de Koonig will still be valued in whatever currency is in style but the stock trading and record selling will not be remembered or valued.
