Hurricane Sandy: Guess Who's Going To Work?

With Hurricane Sandy fast approaching , very few people were going to work in downtown Manhattan today. The few that were identified were personal injury attorneys. They were preparing class action suits. The plaintiffs and their pleas for compensation were left blank until the phones at the law offices actually rang with actual clients. There was one exception. And that sure client was to be fat ass black women in motorized wheelchairs. They would complain about their preferred method of travel was not an amphibian.

Presidency and Bravery

Does one have to be brave to be president? No. Elections are poll driven competetions. Ergo, a candidate only has to stay in bandwith of tabulated poll results to have a chance to get elected. Two of our recent presidents were attorneys- Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Neither displays courage. Maybe because the job discription of an attorney doesn't include acts of bravery to get paid. One need only run up the billable hours to get compensated. Ah, the joys and payoffs of being linked to the biggest and longest lasting cartel on the planet--our legal system.

We need "loser pays". Too many morons make a living in the law and what's worse, some go on to get elected to office. Stop their license to steal.

Elena Kagan: SCOTUS Nominee

Obama dug deep to come up with his Supreme Court justice nominee. Not deep in the sense of traditional values of the U.S. .But deep in Obama's dislike for traditional American conservative values. The 50 year old Kagan never was a judge. She clerked for the black activist Justice Thurgood Marshall. She's an attorney, ergo, never had a real job. She pushed to exclude U.S. Armed Forces recruitment on Harvards campus. She's a radical pro gay rights advocate . She's a liberal Jew in the early twentieth century Lenin/Marxist mold. There's plenty of acceptable Jews. But she isn't one.

We have sunk pretty low to come up with this freak. So we will have more, government of attorneys, by attorneys and for attorneys until the communists take over and eliminate the attorneys.

San Francisco Attorneys: Too Many, Too Expensive

According to the latest edition of the San Francisco Yellow Pages, there are 40 pages listing attorneys. Notably in those same Yellow Pages, a cumulative 40 pages of life's necessities are listed in smaller increments.: appliances, 3 pgs. ; clothes, 5 pgs. ; electricians, 5 pgs.; engineers, 4 pgs. ; grocers, 4 pgs. ; plumbing, 13 pgs. and hospitals, 2 pgs. . They add up to 36 pages, so you have some change left over. Maybe you want an accountant which are listed on 4 pages.

Why do we have all these lawyers compared to the meager percentages of necessry professions and vendors? I think there are 2 main reasons. The first is the lure of money, lots of money whether the attorney wins, loses or settles. The legal system is so costly because of its built-in systems of legal complicating procedures that continually put arriving at a resolution into another month or year. The second reason follows from the first. Since " according to the law" requires attorneys to track the maze of instructions codified in juris prudence, one need only be a good map reader, greedy and not much value-added in planning.
