Jolie, Pitt : Stars, Fans and Charity Marketing

Come and get it! Photos of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's new baby can be had through Getty Images. The PR people are talking millions of dollars being raised for charity through Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt's baby pictures. Are fans that dumb that PayPal servers will buckle under the voyeuristc surge? If this sells big, what's next? Perhaps the movies of the birthing experince first hand? Or how about mother's birthing debris in cryongenic banks that can be traded in futures markets?

The couple made a statement to the press. They said, "While we celebrate the joy of the birth of our daughter, we recognize that 2 million babies born every year would die on the 1st day of their lives. These children can be saved, but only if governments around the world make it a priority."

Sadly the couple have not done the math. Those 2 million infant deaths if prevented end up being in just 2 generations over 500 million new people looking for food , water and a place to stand. For all the good Jolie and Pitt think they are trying to do, they will only add to population grief down the road. A better goal to push with their star appeal would be mentioning and promoting family planning and birth control rather than unlimited population growth.
