James Joyce and Dublin's Eloquent Duck

Pity James Joyce. The pile of pages of his Ulysses weigh more than the duck and her demonstrated eloquence as she waddled by his statue in Dublin and stopped the busy traffic all by her self. This is the 7th year of the tradition of this hen and her brood of ducklings moving from their birthplace at Trinity College to the pond at St. Stephen's Green for their first swim. She had some traffic control assistance from groundsmen from Trinity. Her determined attitude should be a model for conflicted, confused and navel-gazing humans. She knows one thing for sure. Keep on going !

The old days had their advantages. Less people, less noise, more animals and open space. But the disadvantage for the people who lived then was they didn't know how good it was in those areas. The advantage of today is hindsight. Let's get back the good things we have lost.

Please return mother duck with more new ducklings.
